Description: Located just steps from the Navigli, the Duomo, from Sant Ambrogio and the Columns of San Lorenzo, this historic restaurant is a real institution in Milan. Isolated from traffic by a delightful pergola, is the perfect place to read a book in peace, have breakfast in front of the newspaper or enjoy a glass of wine with friends. The Catholic University is very close, so it is normal to meet several students. There are also many foreign tourists. The Pusterla offers access to free WiFi, all the football and a variety of newspapers and national and international journals. The interior retains a classic taste, from the old cafe, with a predominance of wood and warm tones. The interior is decorated with antiques, vintage prints. The dining room is dominated by a large bar behind which you can see a wide selection of spirits. Open daily from 8.00 Am and into the evening, the Pusterla presents another peculiarity very advantageous: the kitchen operational pm. At any time of day, you can order a hot dish, a platter of cold cuts or a sandwich. Aperitif all day from 18:30 cost 7 € We wait for you !!!

“Stale Walnuts ~3 yrs Old”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

The restaurant we had planned on going to was closed and this one was close by. I appeared to be busy with customers, so we decided to go in. We were not sure of the place, so we were just going to order wine and an appetizer. We found and appetizer that sounded good, pecorino romano cheese with slices of pear, and walnut w/honey. The menu did not list any wines; however, the waitress was able to recite all of the white wines they had. The charddony & the cheese dish was delivered promptly,as well as the bread. The bread was so hard, that I just began eating the "soft" center and discarding the crust. The cheese was dry and looked like it had been sitting around for several months. But the walnuts are the reason I chose to write this review... They tasted like old oil that was over 3 years old! I cannot believe they would actually serve something like that, knowing their customers would notice... The only bright spot was the waitresses, they were very friendly.
