“Good value for Milan”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2011

We stayed for one night in the beginning of November, 2011, and were allowed to store our bags in the breakfast room until it was time for us to leave for the airport for our late afternoon flight. The room was comfortable, clean, secure, and had free WiFi. There were 80 - count them - 80 steps to the hotel, but there was a small elevator that one person at a time and one suitcase could fit into and so you did not have to carry your suitcase up those 80 steps. The location was good, within a few minutes walking distance from the train station. There was also a grocery store within a couple of blocks for self-catering. The breakfast, although basic, was adequate and, surprisingly, the do-it-yourself coffee machine produced fairly good coffee. All things considered, Hotel Arno was a good budget choice for seeing Milan.

The room was large, had a sink, vanity and mirror with chair. The room was very clean as was the shared bathroom. However I think you could also get your own. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The breakfast was a bargain at 3 euros and very fresh. The room had opening windows and overlooked a courtyard. This was a great stay and was excellent value for money, a bargain even!

Hotel Arno was a great little hotel at a great price for Milan. The hotel was in a good spot and you could walk into the city if you liked in about 20minutes. I stayed in a single room, yes it was small but perfectly functional for one person. There was no air con but a fan was supplied and there is also a sink in the room. It can be a little noisy with the window open with the trams running outside but once closed it was fine. The shared bathroom was very clean and I never had any issues in having to wait. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The price was fantastic and was better value than staying in a hotel. There were plenty of restaurants, supermarkets around and I felt fine walking around the area at night. It is also close to the train station. I would stay here again.

The hotel Arno is a nice little hotel about 5 minutes walk from the train station. Be careful going there as the sign is small and it is attached to the hotel Eva. It is on the fourth floor and has a tiny elevator. The room was comfortable and clean. The service was very good answering our questions in English.

Hotel Arno is walking distance from the Milano Centrale train station, which was very convenient for us (and for most people, I believe). Although it looks pretty run-down on the outside (the lift is really old-fashioned), the rooms were actually large, spacious, and clean.

The manager during the day was extremely polite, and gave us a very warm welcome. However, the other staff were a little more rude.

There was also a kettle available for use, which came in very handy for cooking instant meals and a cup of tea. We were also allowed to leave our luggage at the hotel despite having checked out. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a stay in Milan.

For 33 euro a night in a city like Milan, I'm pretty happy with this place. It's on the 4th floor, and thankfully they have a lift! The room is pretty small, and it seems like they're trying to make improvements, but maybe gradually over time? New floor, new windows, the bathrooms are super clean and new, but the wall in my room looks like it needs a new coat of paint in a bad way. The bed could be a little more comfortable too. Overall, not bad. I don't expect too much when I'm paying so little for a room in a big city. A 10 minute walk from the train station and good free wifi as well.

I would not recommend Hotel Arno at all. The location isnt bad as it is not too far from the train station or the Duomo, but thats about all I have to say that is nice about it.

The rooms are really old and dirty. The beds sag and the sheets seem like they are really old. The whole place feels musty and dirty and we found quite a bit of dust covering things in our room. I am very used to staying in hostels and budget hotels, and even I found this place disgusting. The bathroom isnt terrible, but its hardly enough for the amount of rooms and people they have sharing it. We felt like we were always waiting to get in.

I would find somewhere else to stay in Milan that isnt dirty and poorly kept up.
