“It never ease to amaze me. Saint Ambrogio church”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

Glad I've chosen to visit this old historic church of Milan. The old brick wall and stone columns tells you a lot about its story. Inside you'll find the remain of saints and martyrs of its era. Even the skeleton body of saint ambrogio himself can be seen in the semi basement of the church in glass coffin. You'll feel some creepiness as you walk through the cold dim lit chamber where walls have aged through time

“Okay church”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2014

This cathedral is a nice and small place to visit. However, this is not as great as the other ones you can find all over Italy. I would only suggest to go there if you have extra time to loose in Milan because you will find a lot of better and more impressive areas to visit.

“fascinating old church”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

The ancient carvings, especially the animals gripping the columns make this church truly unique. Be sure to explore it thoroughly.

“An architecture for conoisseurs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014

A masterpiece of romanesque architecture. There is a reason because in many handbook of architecture there is a chapter devoted to Lombard architecture: this reason largely coincide with S.Ambrogio. An outstanding atmosphere, the real middle age. Three unique masterpiece: the gold altarpiece, the baldacchino and the Stlicone sarcophagus. If you will lucky you will see a wedding in the porch.

“One of my Favorite Churches in Italy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2014

There's something very special about this place. Yes it has great paintings, ancient relics, and fantastic history, but what Italian church doesn't (I say that with all respect).

I actually think the beauty of this place must be felt. There a peacefulness and serenity about it that I found very inviting.

It's off the beaten path but it's worth it.
