“Okay but wouldn't stay again.”

In the city for an Ac Milan game. The local metro Station is Loretta station, roughly around 10-15 minute walk away. Bit nervy if you get lost. Right out the city centre.
Arrived in the road, long road. Me and my brother spent about 15 minutes looking for the hotel. Phone map said we'd arrived. No signs for La pace hotel. Ends out in its merged to another hotel called "Catalani" from what I remeber, so you're not actually staying in La Pace hotel, Just the building. The hotel is split into two buildings. Room itself was basic and clean. Get what you pay for I guess. The cleaners like to move things too. Bathroom very spacious.
Breakfast was basic continental breakfast. We didn't pay for it before, during and after. Must have been included I guess.
All the staff seemed to struggle to speak English which did get confusing. Our building had a lift, okay for your average slim person with a holdall, very old.
Basic, clean, average hotel.
I'm 100% going to Milan again in the near future but would stay a bit more central. Nothing near the hotel to get something to eat either.
One more thing, to prevent getting lost. Before you go CHECK GOOGLE MAPS STREET VIEW so you're aware of what the building looks like as you have no signs at all

The hotel is a kind of central- if you think a 15 minutes walk to metro station is central. The metro station is Loretta and it is i guess 4 or 5 stops far from Duomo which is a reasonable distance. Once you reach the metro station then you can call it central. And it is definitely not 50 meters far from the train station- it takes 2 metro stops to reach the train station after Loretto metro station and by taxi it is about 9 euros from hotel to the central train station. In central train station you can catch the train or the shuttle busses go to both Malpensa and Bergamo airports and vice versa.
The hotel needs a renewing but it is clean for sure. Our room was cleaned every day. The breakfast is okay, you can find cereal, cream cheese , jam, milk and an assortment of patisserie which is reasonable for a 2 stars hotel. We were not expecting fresh fruit and scrambled eggs
However the hotel is without a sound isolation, our room was in the first floor and we heart every each laugh, move, talk passes infront of our door or even from hotel inside, from the dining room, the lobby. It was hard to sleep some nights due to the noise.
And there is a meaningless fan which operates very loud when you turn on the bathroom light and does not stops even you turn of the lights.
As a resume the hotel is quite alright for its price.

Room Tip: there is no elevator in the hotel so try to get a room from gound floor or the 1st.

• Location was perfect for us as we needed an overnighter with a train to catch first thing the next morning (50m from train station). The area is meant to be slightly shady after dark however we didn’t encounter any problems at all. Friendly tip is the neighbouring café on the corner away from the train station does not advertise prices and is extortionate when it comes to paying the bill. We were given the heads up and avoided this place (forget the name?)
• The décor is dated (not sure if this is intentional) but comfortable and the bathroom was a real surprise as it was very modern, it must have been recently refurbished.
• Breakfast had the usual offerings expected of a European style buffet breakfast – focus on pastries and cold meats/cheeses, rather than toast and fresh fruit which was all we wanted.
• The reception lady was extremely helpful and gave us advice on what to do in Pisa making our 1 day in Pisa quite efficient.
• Left the shutters closed as the view to the neighbours behind the hotel wasn’t great.
• There is a Pams (??) grocery store 5mins walk away towards the town centre down a side street.

Good location, close to the metro line "Loretto", only 4 - 5 stops to Duomo and close to the shopping street Corso Buenos Aires.

We liked our rooms, they were big, very clean and with a terrace overlooking the roofs of the beautiful old buildings of Milan. Simple hotel with parking place, elevator and good breakfast.

The smiling owners and the staff were kind, friendly and very helpful.
Good quality and good value for money! We recommend it.

It is an old renovated hotel but only for a night. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was ok, but not abundant (as it says in the hotel's site). It is about 10 minutes walking distance to a metro station but it's a bit far from the city center and there is no way to return after midnight, only by taxi which costs 30 to 40 euros. What' more this hotel does not provide anything to help tourists, like maps, leaflets etc, they sell the city maps. Least but noa last, it has so much noise from around which waked us up from 7 o'clock in the morning.

We attempted to stay here for a night however when i aked the price it was 10 euro higher than what had been advertised on the internet. Iasked to see a room, very spacious with a grotty fan and loud traffic noise. As i went to ask about internet i was told motorbike parking would be five euro and internet would be 10 euro. I said i would check with my husband who was inspecting the room, however the man behind the counter started raising his voice, stating the room was only to look at not to be used. At this point i said we were still thinking of staying but he rudely demanded paperwork and followed me back to the room. I told my husband what had been said and that i did not think i wanted to stay and the man started yelling at us and pushing us out of the room. I have never been spoken to so rudely in 4 months on the road. This hotel does not deserve your business for the price they are asking and the service you will receive. Better off looking at bookings.com again and choosing the next one...
