“Great experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

Went to Al Fresco for my birthday celebration and it was wonderful. Food is delicious, atmosphere is just right and its located in the middle of the city, yet feels like you are far away in the countryside. Well done Al Fresco, keep up the good work. Going back again!!!

“Notable Al Fresco Lunch on a Sunday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2014

We were there with a couple of friends on a sunny Sunday lunchtime and had a very nice experience.

Tables well spaced in the garden, agreeable setting, decent service, good food in right sized portions and even the bill was reasonable.

Recommended.

“Delicious Sunday lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2014

Today we ate at Al Fresco Milano and I'm so glad that I hadn't read the reviews on Trip Advisor. Perhaps they had some difficulties when they first established this restaurant, but there was no evidence of them today. The kitchen is completely visible and looked like a focused, efficient, well run workspace. No dramas.
The restaurant was completely full and everyone looked as if they were enjoying the food and the relaxed atmosphere, even though it was drizzling rain outside. I look forward to returning in the spring to eat in the beautiful garden.
We loved the set menu for Sunday lunch and found the portions perfectly sized. My only quibbles were that the starter of foccacia was a little dry and one of our desserts, a cold rice pudding dish, which looked great, was bland to taste. BUT those were the exceptions. The other four courses were really delicious and not the usual Milanese traditional food that you can eat anywhere else. Delicious fish on a bed of spinach, a yummy bean and spinach thick warm soup, a really interesting cheesey risotto made with spelt and a lovely creamy, simple icecream to finish. Friendly, attentive staff who were very happy to explain the set menu for Sunday lunch.
We will return with friends. Can't wait.

“Another lost occasion, nice place with an awful management”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2013

The idea is nice and the men who run and owns the restaurant as well. So why do not work? We went there for a business lunch...it was not that bad. A little bit too slow and expensive but the overall was fine. I went there for my husband's birthday! We run out of the restaurant as soon we finish the second dish. No coffee no dessert, we were desperate! 3 hours spent in a noisy place, the kitchen was completely out of control and our waitress was so stupid and lazy that it was difficult to be worst. During our conversation on the first visit the owner said that he needs time to properly run in the businnes but the bill was of en excellent and experienced restaurant. Forget this place if you are not a close friend of the owner. In that case you will be treated! Is this a proper way to run an expensive restaurant?
