“Would definitely return!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

Hostel Urban PROs: extremely clean, organised, relatively cheap, very honest and fair about what is and is not included, good location, great 4 person rooms, comfortable pillow and mattress, great soundproofing, each bed has a locker, a power outlet and a nightlight, serviced by a lift. Good area too... I recommend Cafe Solo on via Pacini for your breakfast coffee and brioche... tell Lorenz that the girl from Malta says hi :p

CONs: some receptionists more friendly than others, very narrow shower and changing area with no hooks or stools to place clothes

...Would definitely return!

Room Tip: 4 person room was great

I needed a place to stay on the New Year's Eve and it's the only hostel that was under 20euro/day (before ~3days before check-in).

It's near Politechnico di Milano and easy to to found. The hostel is clean and quite new. You have to pay a deposit of 20eu/person for curtain and pillow, which you get back when checking out.

The room is small and there were beds and lockers. Each area has a common bathroom, restroom and kitchen. Additional services like printing A4 (1euro/page -- quite expensive though), washing, etc are provided with charges.

In a nutshell, this hostel is a good choice for budget one. Given it offers a good price (I book at 11euro/day), I'll come back here when I need somewhere to stay in Milan.

Knowing the quality and cleanliness of most hostels in Italy, this one was brilliant. Clean rooms and bathrooms, for 16 euro pp you get 2 bathrooms in a room of 4! Quiet, very very close to metro station, neighbouhood seemed OK, only you get charged for lockers, tourist tax, towels and things like that - which was surprising.
Oh one thing that was strange - the top beds in bunk beds didn't have any side protection.. so seriously, I was worried that at night I may fall off.. But the beds were otherwise pretty modern, I would say almost brand new.
Considering the pricing and quality of hostels, and even hotels in Milan - this one was a great deal for me. If I come to Milan again, and I'm on my own - heading right to this one.

I was stunned by the cleanliness, infrastructure and furnishings in the hostel which are world class. The location of the hostel is close to the train station as well as metro station and has decent eating places nearby.

However all this got overshadowed by the attitude the hostel has towards backpackers. The towels, cutlery, and even luggage storage is charged exorbitantly. The checkin times are a little too weird. With the price they are charging for rooms, they can be real famous for the rooms they have if they can improve the other things.
