“Clean spacious rooms, but don't need a mirror or take a road side room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

As we pulled up the manager dashed out to give us a parking permit allowing us to park outside the hotel for free on the road - very appreciated in a city. The room was sparkling clean and spacious, very retro 70's (or original 70's?) but oh the lighting. I felt like a blind man trying to put on make up, and even to read in bed at night was a stuggle. There were no English speaking channels on the television - not even the regular CNN. But the noise at night on a road side room was terrible: trams until 1h30am, traffic, dustbins, and then bar deliveries meant no peace what so ever. Typical italian breakfast and 100 metres from a tube station, with just 3 stops to central Milan.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel.

The only shortcoming was the size of the bed ( a few centimeters more would have been a big plus)...having said that loved d design, staff were spot on and breakfast display was good....location wise a couple of meters away frm lore to metro, would stay again

Room Tip: Do not book a single if tall or overweight!

This Hotel is is advertised as a four star hotel, I don't know who gives out the stars for Hotels but 2 or 3 Stars would be the most I would give it, It is small and well situated near a Metro station the rooms are an adequate size, clean looking and reasonably furnished so you have plenty of space to stow your designer gear, pasta and maps. The rooms have tiled floors which I imagine would be lovely in the summer but in the winter you should bring a nice thick pair of woolly socks just in case you need to walk around on the floor without getting hypothermia. I had some problems that stemmed from the top bed covers and the curtains, which it seems, were dusty causing my Asthma to flare up when in my room this was of course a big concern for me and would be for others with similar problems. My partner had no problem at all.

Breakfast was ok with bread, croissants, cheese, meat, cereal, fruit and yoghurt. The fruit juice is not the best quality but you can quench your thirst, replenish your sugar levels and trigger the onset of tooth decay at the same time !! They have a selection of teas and a machine that produces a range of drinkable coffee. The best thing about this hotel by far was the nice friendly and helpful staff, everything we asked for we got with a smile. My best tip for this hotel would be to avoid the room next to the lift, from what I heard it is noisy!

Room Tip: Specifically ask not to have the room next to the lift!

I was there at the end of February and I appreciated the additional blanket. The room was large (twin) and clean, the bed was large and the bathroom was ok and clean. However, the shower / cubicle could be a little bit larger so I had to care a bit for myself not to hit the wall when turning around. Also the windows could close better as the noise on the street (a cleaning machine at midnight and action early in the morning) impacted my sleep. In particular, I liked the breakfast buffet (some choice, different beverages). Personnel was friendly and helpful. The price was a bit high, but I had to stay there during a fair ....

Room Tip: Avoid a room directed to the street (as far as I could see below xx6)

I found this hotel on the hostel world website. I have stayed there for two nights in the weekend in order to explore Milan.

The location is good, close to everything, public transportation, etc. The single room is very small, but what you wanted? This is not a 5* hotel ! However, the rooms are renovated, the shower is great ! The bed and the TV are small, but I was not there to watch TV anyway.

There is a pizza place right in front of the hotel which has awesome pasta for a great price. They also treat you really well, even though this is a bit rare in Italy.

I would stay here again if I were to travel in a budget and wanted to be close to everything.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

I stayed in a twin room for 2 nights with breakfast. The toilet was spacious, and the shower was good. The shower cubicle was curve-shaped which you had to angle the shower head properly so you don't hit anything when showering.

There was a safety deposit box provided in the closet which was filled with random hangers of all sizes. And there was a space next to the closet to put our suitcases. However, there is only space for one suitcase so my roommate had to put hers on the floor (my suitcase was bigger). There was a study desk with chair provided along with one armchair. The LCD tv was placed above the study desk on a wall - situated at a corner where if you were sitting on a bed then you were able to see it. There are only 2 decent english channels - BBC and CNN. The rest was in italian. Everything was satisfactory. The room was clean as well.

Receptionists are very friendly, polite and fluent in english. There was ongoing construction opposite the hotel but since my room faced the back we did not hear any noise. The room door is quite tricky to lock from outside as a traditional key is needed to lock it. There was a problem with the wifi on our first night but by the second night it worked. A desktop computer is provided next to the reception to surf the net if you don't have mobile computers.

Breakfast is located in the basement and the array provided is not that bad as reviewers claim it to be. I've tried breakfasts ranging from hostels, guesthouse, 5-star hotels (ie, Westin), resorts and this one is a comfortable 3.5 out of 5.0 - which is OK. There was cereal, croissants, egg, a coffee machine & many more provided. There was someone on duty who constantly cleared the dishes so the small breakfast room could continuously accommodate more guests.

Metro is 1 min from the hotel (but to go back from metro make sure you know which exit you're taking) and the station serves a direct line to both the Duomo, Castello & Milano Centrale. Watch out for your belongings at the Centrale metro station though, dregs of society roam that area and they might even stoop mighty low to steal your change while you buy tickets from the ticket machine.

Overall I rate this hotel to be a pretty quaint place which tries to be at its best given its space provided in Milano. Don't expect too much out of it though.

PS: by Asian standards, I have to agree that this is no 4-star hotel.
