Owner description: Tickets to view Leonardo Da Vinci's Last Supper go on sale three months in advance and sell out quickly, although it's sometimes possible to buy tickets closer to your visit. If you don't manage to purchase tickets on your own, consider visiting The Last Supper as part of a tour. It's much more expensive, but worth it if you don't want to miss out.

“Milano must see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

If you're in Milan this is simply a must see. The premises is expertly managed as each group is led into an area to wait for the group ahead to have their turn in the hall. As the group ahead are all out the hall the door is electronically opened to allow you to enter. In the hall there are two murals; L'ultima cena and a painting of the Jesus crucification. The great hall itself has an amazing atmosphere about it. Although everyone goes to see the last supper the other painting is just as magnificent which we overheard a tour guide say that Da Vinci actually did some input on aswell. I didn't have a tour guide for this trip but as there were two tourguides with other people in the group, this wasn't a problem as we could listen in to what they were saying. Overall, definitely worth a visit!

“This is certainly a must-do.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

Everyone who can get to Milan should make this trip. They do an excellent job of managing this experience and are superb custodians of this valuable piece of our cultural patrimony. Because of this, you will have to book in advance on-line. But that is the way it should be. The restoration has left nothing there that was not original, meaning that it is a bit of a ghost of what had been seen for many years in print, which was essentially a "paint over." But it is all that much more delicate and ephemeral and amazingly beautiful for how it has been restored. You will be deeply moved.

There is only one problem with this attraction. It is in Milan. Milan is a big, shambling, soulless, graffiti-spattered, cold monster of an Italian city; sort of a Frankfurt in Lombardy, a town whose motto is "You can't get there from here." You will literally struggle to find this place, or any place, in Milan and you will have a harder time finding parking. You will not find a good place to eat. The people will be unfriendly. There is no street life. You will find yourself missing the toy hawkers and the bad street musicians you used to dodge in Rome. The good hotels will be over-priced, as will the high fashion stores. All are better in Rome or Florence or Palermo or Ravenna or Pisa or Perugia.

The most important tip I have ever offered on any attraction is this. See The Last Supper, and maybe the Duomo and La Scala, but do not stay in Milan. Stay outside. Make this stuff a day trip. The Milanese will tell you frankly, "The Romans are friendlier, but they do not work." But in August almost every Roman store, restaurant and hotel was open. They were working. Almost nothing at all was open in Milan. That is because they are less interested in your visit to Milan or making money off of your visit to Milan or helping you to enjoy your visit to Milan than than they are in doing whatever they want.

“The light that comes from that painting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

Is just magic, worth the hassle of getting a reservation. My boyfriend and I showed up very early the day we wanted to see L'Ultima Cena. There is also another lovely mural on the wall opposite.

Yes, only a few people are allowed at a time and there are no pictures allowed :), the church next door is worth a visit as well.

Ciao, enjoy!

“in the presence of Leonardo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

if you are in Milan you have to see the Last Supper! but attention! you must book well in advance (like months!!) and the tour lasts only 15 minutes!
Is located in Santa Maria delle Grazie, you can take the M2 and stop in Sant'Ambrogio.
The fresco is beautiful and transmits many emotions......I can't really explain it so....you must to see it! :-)

“Tickets in advance”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

Buy your tickets in advance from the Italian Website, if you just turn up you will be disappointed.
The painting is amazing, worth seeing for sure.
A piece of true history.
