“Great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

Stayed here for 2 nights in November 2012 and loved this hotel. The location, decor and service was excellent. The breakfast was lovely and the reception team were very efficient and offered great advise. WIFI was only available at the lobby near reception. That was only downside to it. The bedroom was big and clean. The bathroom was unreal.

The hotel is conveniently located next to a metro stop. It is spacious, has good meeting/conference facilities, a good breakfast, and the room was clean and convenient. It was quite expensive, though.

One reception clerk was particularly curt and sour, gave me incorrect information, and did not acknowledge or apologize for it when I let her know it was wrong, nor did she show any motivation to try to solve my problem.

On arrival to this hotel there was a mixed welcome. Some staff were extremely helpful while the reception staff were quite arrogant. The hotel itself was nicely decorated and the rooms were big and comfortable . The most disappointing thing about this hotel was that you had to pay €20 per couple to use the swimming pool! Having travelled extensively around the world and having stayed in dozens of hotels, I can honestly say this was the first time I came across one that charged you extra to use their pool!! Compared to the other hotel we used in Milan, Hotel Grand Visconti really was NOT that grand! To end on a positive note- the Breakfast was very good.

Good afternoon dear Charlie 280869,

thank you for taking the time to write your comment.

As far as the entrance for the Spa, it is €15,00 per day per couple and it includes the use of swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi. The use of the Spa is included in the suite's tariffs.

We are truly sorry you felt not welcomed in a proper way by our reception staff, we can assure you this is not by any means our standards and it definetely comes as a not pleasant surprise.

Please feel free to contact me to discuss it further; my email address is: yveline.corthier@grandviscontipalace.com.

Kind Regards.

My wise and I stayed for one night here a week ago. The hotel is great with a large hall and luxurious rooms. The car park was expensive (30 euros/night) but we parked on the street as it was saturday night and sunday. I would stay again if in Milan.

This hotel is fabulous, spotlessly clean, great service, comfortable beds, a choice of pillows, luxurious toiletries, air conditioned and although our room overlooked a very busy street, the double glazed windows ensured the room was quiet. However, it is with regret that I make mention of the one thing that would prevent me returning. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room and I didn't mind the plastic cups, but the little packets of DRIED milk made our morning coffee absolutely un-drinkable as when it is added, the coffee turns into lumpy curds. This could be very simply fixed by providing small containers of long life milk used all over the world by hotels, airlines and trains. I hope management take notice of this problem and stop providing powdered milk. Drinks at the bar are very expensive and WIFI is €5 per 24 hours or free for 30 minutes in the lobby.

Dear Happy Ausie,
We would like to thank you for giving us feed back about your stay. We are glad you mainly had a good experience with us. We thank you for giving us advises in order to provide our guest a better service therefore we have forwarded to our management your comment regarding the milk powder, we believe action will be taken as soon as possible in order to change that as well as the plastic cups and make our future guests happier when having a cup of tea/coffee in the room.
We hope to welcome you back again.
Best Regards

This was a wonderful hotel and the staff went out of their way to help us. They called on our behalf to get luggage that was lost in transit, always greeted us with a smile and suggested great places to eat. It felt like we were staying with friends. I will definitely stay there again when I travel to Milan for work. The one downside is that the beds were hard; but, the rooms were spacious, comfortable and quiet.

We arrived late from a direct trip in from New Zealand. Bernie the Head Concierge made everything simple and personal from the first moment and maintained that sincere, interested relationship all through hour two night stay. Even though the breakfasts were splendid and the refurbished room we had were of a high standard that all I could do was feel positive - what remains as a standout memory and will bring us back again - is the professional personal service level from the concierge to remove any barriers. Well done.

Room Tip: new refurbished wing on the quiet side street rather than the front of the building. By the way the...
