“Stylish B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

It is worth travelling to Milan just to stay at Lamarmora18 - because the apartment is so exquisitely stylish. Monica, the elegant proprietor, was helpful, concerned and unobtrusive. The Metro is three minutes walk away, at the beginning of the street. There is a choice of modest restaurants just around the corner.

We stayed 1st & 2nd October in this central Milan B&B located in fine early 20th century building. Tram outside direct or 15 minute walk to Duomo. Rooms attractively designed. Spotlessly clean. Large living room for reading. Breakfasts are varied and plentiful with good choice of breads. Monica is a delightful hostess although some Italian helps. We had quiet room facing courtyard. Only possible downturn are two flights of stairs which may be tough if you have heavy bags. Overall very good value.

Room Tip: Ask for room facing courtyard

I booked this b&b from home before leaving for Italy. I booked a triple room with 3 single beds and was very happy with the result. The b&b is about a 10 min walk from the duomo and Monica (the owner) was a pleasure to deal with. The room had its own bathroom across the hall which was clean and large. We basically had the whole b&b to ourselves after the first night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Breakfast included both hot and cold options. A great place to stay in Milan.

We stayed in the B&B Lamarmora18 during a weekend and were very much satisfied with everything: pleasant, individual and timely service from the moment of booking, professionally and very stylish prepared room and breakfast area as well as a bathroom, very clean in every aspect. Tee and coffee can be made by yourself in between for free. Free Internet connection.
Very nice, friendly and helpful host, Mrs. Monica Tosini, big thanks to you.
All needed facilities and sightseeings of the city could be reached by feet; a metro and tram stations are very close to the house, which is very nice and good kept and looked after. Secure parking nearby.
The choise of Italian B&B towards a hotel has been confirmed again in a pleasant way.
Can be in any way highly recommended to all visitors, both business and private, valuing high quality and a very good atmosphere.

In town for Milan Fashion week this was a little oasis of calm after the incessant busyness of the Duomo area. This B&B is conveniently located on a tram+bus route and a 5-10 min walk from a metro stop.

Monica is a wonderfully warm B&B host who runs the cleanest B&B I've ever stayed at, and one with beautiful design touches to its two rooms. Each room has its own bathroom which is separate but right next to each.

For breakfast Monica checks what time suits you and lays out a variety of sweet and savoury items. The breakfast room is as shown a large and elegant affair, all the more appreciated for the peace & quiet given that there are only two rooms to cater for.

Only thing to be aware of is arranging your arrival time in advance so Monica is on site, and that the entrance door doesn't bear the B&B's name (it's written on one of the door buzzers). The B&B is through the entrance door and up two flights of stairs on your left.

I'll definitely be back and next time with more Italian :)
Grazie mille e buona fortuna Monica!

Room Tip: The pink room is quieter apparently, but the blue room is larger and is a double bed rather than twi...

We spent four nights at this property and absolutely loved it. The Pink Room is much better than it looks on the photos and the entire property is very stylish.

Monica, our host, was very pleasant and hospitable and kept the property meticulously clean. We were provided a choice of continental, international or English breakfasts which were substantial and of very high quality.

The property is in a quiet, safe neighbourhood that is a short walk from a Metro station. Some traffic noise was experienced at night, but this is to be expected in the city.

Highly recommended.

Room Tip: The property consists of two rooms, each with a private bathroom down the hall. Either is good.

We have recently stayed at Lamarmora B&B, in the blue room. The impression we got from the very beginning was that the appartment -in a charming old-style building- was even more welcoming and cosy than in the pictures. The blue room is very spacious, with a very comfortable bed. The decoration is simple and pleasant and we certainly felt very relaxed from the moment we set foot there. The blue room has its own private bathroom (we thought somehow that it was shared with the other room, but it seems that every room has its own); it's a spacious and romantic-sort-of bathroom -which is in the corridor, near the room. Amongst the things we liked, we were particularly impressed on how absolutely spotless clean everything was. Regarding the quality of sleep, we found that the original classic paving on the street below made the passing of cars quite loud; there is a fan in the room so, if it's not very hot, you can sleep with the windows closed. The B&B is only two stops by metro from the Duomo metro station; we liked the location very much, being very central but not too busy.

Another very positive aspect about Lamarmora is the breakfast, which is freshly prepared every morning by Monica, who is by the way a lovely host. Breakfast is abundant and very yummy -the pastry is delicious, taken directly from Monica's patisserie.

We would certainly recommend this cute place, which is actually very good value for money.
