“Very Convenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2014

Nice hotel close to metro and right in the middle of some of the best shopping area ever. No shortage of restaurants, all budgets catered for close by. Our family room was lovely, very spacious and a great layout. Breakfast was excellent each morning.

This is the perfect hotel, if you fancy having a fat old man named Leopold strutting around proclaiming ownership of the hotel and fussing people around. He is, in his words, an "esteemed businessman". Sure, more like delusional concierge with self-esteem issues and a penchant for shoving lies down peoples' throats to boost his own sense of self-worth. Any tool with half a brain would know not to work front desk at his own hotel if he has the social skills of a three year old (i.e. fat old Leopold).

Location is just great (1km from Centrale and just a few steps from many public transport possibilities (underground, bus, tram, etc.).

Cleaniness is about average, no big surprises.

We got an answer to all our questions from the receptionists - and we had many :) They gave us maps, instructions what so ever. Some of them were not very polite but they helped us too.

There is no restaurant inside the hotel or minibar in the rooms but if you need a bottle of water or beer they do serve you from their bar and it will not even cost you a fortune. There is also a shopping mall 200m away from the hotel and they had no problem with us bringing in some food (not as if we were planning to cook for ourselves but a big pack of bottled water is always a must during summer :) ).

1 EUR /hr for internet is a real pain and I really do not get what makes them think it is worth to spend minutes on administering every single usage... But at least they clearly state this option everywhere so it is not a hidden trap ;-)

Breakfast is average (i.e. 2 types of filled croissants and 1 empty, 3 types of meat, some cheese and some average quality yoghurts). They do refill everything even 5 minutes before they close the dining area.

Have stayed in Milan numerous times this was by far the most discourteous hotel staff experience I have had in Italy
Not one word of welcome warmth or hospitality as I was leaving I was asked not to wait in front of the hotel with my children despite that there was no bell service what so ever or any bench. The hotel was not child friendly and the two make staff upon my exit were unfriendly.

We stayed here for 1 night before move to Florence, hotel is fins, walking distance to the subway and not too much far from the train station.

The hotel decoration is lovely and room is clean. Breakfast is simple.

Room Tip: Corner room is recommend and avoid for the first floor room.

Stayed for 2 nights. Friendly personnel. Booked hotelroom for 3 people, were there with 2 (because of cancellation) so room was spacious for 2. Close to big shopping street and 20 minutes to Duomo.

Room is fine but our toilet missed the upper half. Breakfast is ok, not a lot of choices but good enough. Lobby is beautiful.
Big plus: elevator.
Big con: hotel advised us a parking garage but personnel is cranky and unhelpful! 20 euro a day. If u find cheaper, go there. They charged us 40 euros for one and a half day.

We stayed in Serena for 3 nights in May. The hotel is fine, we wanted to stay close to the center of Milano and not far from the train station. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. The service was ok, at reception there was this very nice young lady receptionist who was very helpful and smiley. Breakfast was very simple. Do not expect too much, but if you only need an average, clean place to sleep this hotel is fine.
