“?Feared the worst, but slightly surprised”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013 via mobile

I was looking for a hotel in the center of town for a business trip. This way I stumbled upon this hotel, booked it through some hotel booking portal with the announcement "free cancellation". Finally my trip came closer and I tried to cancel, just to find out that cancellation needed to be done at least 3 weeks before the arrival at the hotel. Cancellation fee = full amount of reservation = not very user friendly.

Finally I used the hotel and my worst expectation were not confirmed. The room was OK, clean. Decoration has the charme of the 80', the TV and airconditioner are probably even older. Breakfast was OK. Location is great, rught in the center of Milan. I could reach all my business activities by foot. Connection to Malpensa airport was OK as well ( about 45 min. and ? 11,-).
Overall it was OK, not really revommendable.

I had to stay two days in that hotel, its one of the most awsome locations for a hotel in Milan, in the other side, the rooms are a disaster, i would like to mention the tv service ok i understand that the hotel is located in the historical part of Milan but it doesnt mean that the tv should be a historical part also! !! Service is not good, restaurant is located in the basement floor which there is no mobile signal at all.. overall u can also go for this hotel for its location nomore! !!

As you can see by the reviews above, my stay at the hotel has been a somewhat sour experience. Generally I enjoy having a nice room with decent service, neither of which were satisfactory. The furniture was almost as antique as the location itself and probably just as old. Chairs were creaky and I struggled to fall asleep, due to a distinct scent of dampness, which is extremely unpleasant for someone with asthma. Please take my observations into consideration to improve!!!

Great location, being only 50+metres from the Duomo piazza & metro station. Comfortable rooms, with pillows that aren't overblown monstrosities which you can't get comfortable with! Considering the location the prices are also extremely competitive. The only negatives, and also a reason for the "lower" prices versus similar competitors is that the rooms are pretty "tired" and old fashioned, as well as the TV which offers a grand total of 10 channels, with only CNN being the english option. The bathrooms are also outdated with no shower, and pretty cramped too. However considering the price which i paid, I'm more willing to accept these limitations/shortcomings. The breakfast was included, but again, it's sufficient but nothing too great, and again in line with costings.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a good rate, and then it's all more than satisfactory.

I stayed here two weeks ago for a week, during a business conference. Great location, near the Duomo, but that's about it. Staff are very rude, tall blonde receptionist was very cross I asked for a taxi to be ordered, was visibly too busy to deal with us pretty much every time I spoke to her. This was shocking considering we as a company filled 100 rooms for a week. There is no bar! I know they say there is, but the lounge area and the small table which passes as a bar makes it not at all conducive to sitting down for any sort of drink/meeting/etc. The decor is bizarre: yellow walls, blue couches, I couldn't work out if it was seriously dated or some bizarre attempt at edgy design. That became more clear when I entered the bedroom - something out of 1970s, and not in a nostalgic way. The hotel is expensive and offers very little other than location. They list as having a gym. We asked the tall blonde receptionist who again was very busy where that way. She pointed to the gym across the road, which had nothing to do with the hotel. Cost? €80/day. Discount for hotel guests - you must be kidding, the gym has no affiliation to the hotel. I've stayed in better Travelodges in my time, at least they don't misrepresent what they are providing. If you can, avoid it, as it is purely a tourist trap.

Placed very close to the Duomo, the hotel promises much. But, it has failed to live up to the standards of the 21st century. Everything, from the decor, to the beds, to the televisions is dated, and begging for a change.
There are no wall showers in most rooms, which is surprising. The reception staff were 'efficient'. The breakfast was acceptable, but not in keeping with the standards of a hotel in such a prestigious location.
The convenient location makes up for some of the deficits however.

If you are looking for proximity to Duomo Square at a reasonable price and you don't mind uncomfortable beds/pillows this is the place.
This is not a 4 star hotel. The rooms are clean, very roomy with high ceilings. Unfortunately, there a lots of water stains on the ceiling and overall tired decor. I was traveling with my adult daughter for 2 days of sightseeing and shopping. We were only looking for a convenient/comfortable place to stay. Our first room was so noisy (awakened by garbage trucks at 5:50am), that we relocated to another room. I also found the beds (twin) to be extremely uncomfortable.
The breakfast is very good and included. The service was very good too.
I would not stay here again as bad beds negate the other amenities for me.

Room Tip: The rooms with street view are extremely noisy.
