“Perfect Location, Terrible staff, HORRIBLE A/C system & Noisy Beds”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

I spent 2 sleepless nights there in Room 102.
This hotel has a perfect location for shopaholics, and it's 5min walk to Duomo, so PERFECT location, the rooms have the WORST A/C system, it was terribly hot, the bed made HORRIBLE noise every time i moved & wasn't comfortable so i spent 2 sleepless nights due to the heat & the bed noise.
The staff; the lady at the reception is very nice and helpful but the guys are horrible, when i talked to one of them about the A/C problem he answered in a snobbish way is this ur first time in a hotel? i answered in an unpleasant way no it's not, the A/C is not working, he said that's the system in milan, A/C is always on 20C, i told him that's not possible, it's too hot we couldnt sleep last night, so he said we'll check it. and it actually remained terrible as it was.
then on our check out we asked them to call a taxi to pick us up, the taxi arrived but the luggage wasn't there yet though we asked them to bring them 15min before, so the taxi driver charged us more money due to our delay though it's the hotel's mistake, i told one of the guys in the reception but he didn't do anything about it.

Overall Perfect Location, Terrible staff, HORRIBLE A/C system & Noisy Beds

Very central location - short walk to Duomo, La Scala etc (alternatively two stops on tram). Modern, nicely decorated room and bathroom and very comfy bed. Good sized room and pretty quiet despite overlooking main street with trams.
Breakfast included - buffet style with wide range and lots of choices. Very friendly service from breakfast staff.

Milano was our 2nd stop after the Lake Como in our Italy Trip and all we were looking for was a clean room that is near and accesible to the attractions .. Ariston Hotel did not disappoint us. First of all the room was very very simple and clean and as we didnt look for elegance of the room but a clean room it was ok . The location was good.. On foot we easily reached the Center (where Duomo is located) and we also walked to Navigli.... I read the previous articles and saw that too many people complained about the noise outside.. Well; people , this is Milano, not a village on the Mountains, and Milano is alive.. Cars, the tram, people are loud ok but not "that" loud.. So for people who think like us the noise is not a problem at all. In a city like Milan you only use the room for sleeping some hours and take a shower anyway so it is enough when it is clean...I totally recommend this Hotel...

With a location as near to the city center as need be this hotel should be a lot better. The location itself does the hotel no favors as is not at all isolated well enough to keep out the nightly city noises (passing trams, traffic & passersby - all night, a pest even at the fifth floor!). Just as bad: the walls and floors are thin enough that every word or footstep in the next room can be heard. For light sleepers this hotel must be hell. The rooms are very small (tiny) and the beds are rock solid (but that's something anyone who's traveled to Italy should be used to).

A lot of reviews boast about the breakfast but I found there to be very little choice, no matter when I arrived. Worse: the dining room is too small to seat everyone and our little group of three had to split up to find some room. Hardly a pleasant way to start the day.

The staff is very hit / miss with some people genuinely trying their best, while others couldn't care less.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. For this price there's lots better to be found.

This Hotel was recomended to me by a friend. I booked it trough the agency since on the booking.com was on request and no rooms were available for the period that I wanted. So maybe try trough Dertour to book if you dont see it on the Booking.com.
Hotel has a great position for turist who like to walk and explore the city :
- 10 min walk via Torino to Duomo
- 10 min by taxi from Cardona station if you catch a train form Malpensa Airport to come to the city ( train ticket is just 11 EUR and taxi from station to the Hotel is 10 EUR)
-15 min walk to get to Navigli area with the canals...
and other parts are very close because of the Metro station at Duomo where you can catch a metro and go to every part of the city!
There is also a small parking in front of the Hotel. 20 EUR is fee for a day
Hotel has very nice rooms, the ones on 6th floor that we got were very nice.( Hotel has 9 flors)
I think they renovated recently some rooms. Breakfast is very good, no complains about food. Also if you order room service food is very nice and tasty.
Only thing that can be bad about this Hotel is that since it is close to the busy street it can be sometime noisy in the night, and trams are passing by the hotel. But I guess it is the price of the good location.
Considering that it is 3* Hotel it made a very good impresion.

If you need any more details about the Milan and some advices about places and things to do in Milan, be free to send me a msg!

Room Tip: Rooms on 6th floor are renovated soon. Rooms close to the main street can be noisy since it is a bus...

One of the guys of the staff, who was there in the morning, was impatient, wasn t accurate, for example he told me that a taxi to Malpensa was 100 Euros the I said to him I read it was 90 E, he assured me I was wrong, in the afternoon I asked for a taxi for the lady in the reception, and she told me it was 90 E.
And for two times that I want to ask for information, this guy was smoking outeiros the hotel with o one in the reception.
Hotel is well located, 10 to 15 minutes walk from the Duomo
