“Everything is big at The Small”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012 via mobile

After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor, I told my wife to expect an unusual evening. The staff at The Small delivered an incredible meal with incredible flair. If you love to interact with the staff and your fellow diners, you're in for a treat. The food was great and the owner's recommendations were delicious. Reservations are a must due to the limited number of tables. Alessandro's love for his customers is reflected in a unique dining experience. Go with an open mind and a big appetite. It was our best meal in Milan

“Heaven on earth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

This had to be one of the most delightful eating experiences I've ever had and this view is shared equally by all the peopl included in our group (11 of us). "The Small" is indeed very small. So make su e you book way ahead of time. The decor was unexpected (mostly pieces from flea markets), The food above our expectations as well as the wine and the service. Alessandro (the owner) made sure we were kept HAPPY and he really succeded. Fantastic value for the price. Don't miss it: "The Small" is great.

“Nice place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

The restaurant's decor is nice & the service is very personal/friendly...plus the food is reasonably priced, because of the free water :p however, i was disappointed that when i asked for their meat recommendations, i was given meatballs...maybe i should've insisted that what i wanted was a meat 2nd course...although in fairness, the meatballs were tasty & the bread basket was delicious (specially the spicy pretzels)...maybe i was just expecting more...

“Landed in Peter pan's wonderland”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

This is one of the most interesting dining experience I've had. As we arrive, Alex welcomed us as we were his guest to his house, n yes he hand write the menu, probably not every day though since we were there two days on the roll n the menu is the same. The menu is in Italian, so he will explain every dish in English, where the ingredients from, n why it's special, not In the way just to translate, but more like telling you the story behind jt, and as a friend, not a owner of the restaurant. He serves every table by himself, gives everyone welcome drinks, n it's pretty good.

The place is exquisite n with many interesting details, the artsy paintings, the Barbie dolls, the fancy water glasses n the beautiful flowers...it's just like going to a wonderland, instead of Alice, it's Peter pan's.

The foods portion is huge, compare to most if Italian restaurant, I can get full on starter, you can tell he uses very fresh n good ingredient, n its tasty. he really treats every guest like his friend. He gives us kisses when we arrive n when we leave, we almost thought we actually know him.

We went to many restaurants in different countries n familiar with all kinds of hospitalities, but this one Still stands out, its hard to describe, you just have to go there to experience it. Booking is strongly suggested, because he has only 20-25 settings, it gets full very fast.
