“Fantastic Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

We stayed at the hotel the first weekend in February. We arrived in the evening to a warm welcome. The gentleman on reception was very friendly and helpful. He spoke very good English and answered all our questions.

Our room was very large with a HUGE bed. It was clean and exactly what we needed. The bathroom had a lovely size bath and there were a selection of bath products to use. In the room you had a LCD tv and a mini bar (expensive-but when are they not?) plus a safe which came in very handy.

The hotel was a 5 minute walk from Lotto Metro station and the Duomo stop is only 7 stops on from there. Everything was in easy reach. The area around the hotel itself was very quiet. The is one restuarant opposite, which we ate at and the food and service we couldnt fault. Other than that there is not much going on.

The breakfast buffet is fantastic, with a good selection of food on offer. The staff were very helpful again and seated us where we wanted to go.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay in Milan. The hotel was brilliant and i am not quite sure why there are bad reviews?! We had a great time.

Room Tip: Fifth floor has a great view of the mountains in the distance.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

Meliá Milano Hotel is located near the metro station, 10 stops from Termini (with a change of line 1). The hotel is decorated in the old style. Very friendly staff at reception. Large rooms, equipped enough. Free WiFi. Bathroom large and clean. Available vanity, bed very comfortable. Breakfast is served in the restaurant on the first floor. A wide selection of drinks, a nice variety of dishes - even sweet. Surely no one will come out hungry;)

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

Once I had booked the trip to Milan for my boyfriend and I and read some of the negative reviews on this hotel I was a little worried. However our experience was great! I emailed the hotel before we arrived to advise it was my boyfriends birthday - on arrival they upgraded us free of charge to a Superior Room (which had a massive bed and its own computer), they also left a birthday cake (with candle) in the room for us, which was lovely.
The staff were all very welcoming, the hotel was grand and had a classic car and a grand piano in reception, which added to the look.
The underground station is 2 mins walk and the San Siro stadium is only 15 minutes walk.
We would recommend this hotel and stay again.

We visited the pizzeria restaurant right opposite on our second night, which was terrible! Poor service with rude staff and terrible over priced food! - however this had nothing to do with the hotel.

Room Tip: Superior Room on 3rd floor

The hotel was an older building. I loved the feel of the place. The rooms were nice and on the large size. The shower was powerful and hot. They had a classic car and a grand piano in reception, which added to the look.

There are two nice restuarants right opposite which are much cheaper and better than the hotel.

The underground station is 2 mins walk and its only 5 stops to Duomo.

Room Tip: 5th floor is best

This hotel was a great find after booking through Groupon.

The hotel itself is a stones through from Lotto tube station which is handy for getting into Milan. Tubes run until 12.30am. The area itself has a couple of nice restaurants but not much going on. Overall though we felt the location was perfect for a tourist who is happy to use the Metro.

Staff excellent. Always helpful, smiley and went out of their way to help. They arranged a late check in for us, helped us with booking taxis and arranging a train to Lake Como.

The breakfast was amazing, everything you could ever ask for. Fresh breads, pastries, hot food but the continental breakfast was the best. Fresh tomatoes, palma ham and mozzarella.

The bedrooms are clean, spacious and luxurious and the hotels public areas are beautiful. Very grand.

Tips - Don't pay for wi fi. Their is a 'Melia' which is free although it knocks off and you have to re select it from time to time. Also don't pay for Tv you can get lots of channels just by using the channel arrows rather than the main menu which asks you to pay.

Downsides - the light control panel and door locks are a bit tricky. A room information leaflet with instructions would be useful.

Overall we would say this hotel was wonderful, and such a bargain too !

Dear Maggie_May24017

Thank you for sharing with us your feelings about the experience at Meliá Milano. We are thrilled to see that we surpassed your expectation our Team will be delighted to know that you appreciate our friendliness, our Service and attitude. The Meliá Milano is situated with in touching distance of the beating heart of Milan’s financial district, yet at the same time well away from the chaotic traffic of the big city. Located in the Fieramilanocity district, it is just a few minutes ride on the Milan metro from both the new trade fair centre in Rho and the city centre. The hotel’s five-star luxury is clearly evident in every little detail and makes it a inique, reserved, and relaxing ambiente where the staff will take care of everything. Eventually we catch the opportunity to say that Meliá Hotels International is working to offer soon a better Wi-Fi connection in all our Hotels and from now the Wi-Fi is completely free in our property. If you want to stay in touch with us follow our official facebook fanpage. We very much look forward to welcoming you back on many future occasions.

Hotel of high class, sumptuous rooms.Grand style which I feel is typically Milanese. The bar service was a very helpful. The rooms were done up in style with heavy curtains which blocked out the light completely, huge and highly decorated wall mirrors and a shiny clean bathroom. Breakfast was excellent.

I would reccomend this hotel for business traveller or whoever has a car. Located near a Underground station reaching the city center, is easy, affordable and safe.
An excellent 4-5 star hotel with a small but well equipped gym, friendly staff and nice, clean room.
I´ve been booking 2 nights and I could enjoy both of them, in the evening I left for a walk and I could enjoy some good italian food on the other side of the street.
