“Best Breakfast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2014

First night in Italy spent here. Helpful staff, clean room, elevator (YEAH!), awesome breakfast. Good location on tram/bus route. Small intimate hotel with a bar downstairs. Short taxi ride to Duomo area for great shopping and of course the Duomo. Staff was great, would stay again!

Room Tip: Rooms on street have best view but a bit of noise.

The hotel was as expected. We had a 3-persons room and it provided exactly what we expected: 3 beds, clean bathrool, television and aircondition. The personal at the hotel were nice and friendly and the breakfast was good.

We stayed here for one night before continuing our journey. The location was good, quite near the train station. The room as well as the bathroom were spacious and clean. The breakfast was excellent - a lot to choose from. Especially the selection of fresh fruits was good.

This hotel was convenient for us on our last day of travel before returning to the states. The staff were friendly and spoke good english. They were helpful with directions to train station and the check-in was a breeze. The rooms are fine if you are only staying for a night or two. The bathroom was one of the best we had in Italy, but the beds and pillows could use an update (like most hotels in Italy). They served a complimentary breakfast in the morning that consisted of cured meats, pastries, cereal, yogurt, juices, and caffe & cappuccino. Nothing special but decent nonetheless. The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to the bus station which made getting to Malpensa airport much easier than we expected. The TRAM & subway are also a short walk from the hotel which makes getting around the city easy. The price was a bit higher than it should be, especially for mid April, but it was still cheaper than many other area hotels. There is a 5 euro per person city tax in addition to the cost of the room.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 days March 28th to March 31st. We booked a lovely 415 room for me and my friend. The room was very sunny, warm and spotless clean. Breakfast in the hotel was excellent you can choose either cured meats, selection of cheese, deserts, youghuts, scramled or boiled eggs with sausages, cereals, fresh selection of juices. Choice was for all tastes - for either vegetarians, those who are on a diet or simply for those who like full similar British type of breakfast. Will always remember the good atmosphere in the hotel and will definitely recommend it to my friends.

This hotel is very convenient to Milano Centrale (the train station). It was perfect for me to settle down after the long day traveling from the states. The room was clean, bed was good, bathroom quite adequate and internet was fast. They give you a login and pwd for three hours of internet. I used mine up (left a window open). Went down to inquire how to pay for more and they just gave me new login/pwd. Gratzie, molto gentile. Breakfast was very good. No street traffic to disturb sleep (well maybe a tad).

If you want to spend a few or more days in Milano, Marconi may not be the best for you. If being proximate to the train station is a benefit, then I recommend.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2014

This is most certanly NOT a 4 stars hotel.
1) The room was way too small for a 4 star hotel and for the money spent
2) The temperature in our room was really high and the air conditioning did not work. I asked the staff and they told me that at that hour (10.30 pm) the AC was already off (what does it mean? probably just an excuse to hide the fact that the AC was broken). Then they set the central heating to the minimum level in order not heat the room further. Result: we had to spend the night with the window open (in March). This should be handled differently in a 4 star hotel.
3) Although we booked for two we had to ask for the second set of towels
4) They do not have a parking lot, but asked me 28 euro to park in another hotel
5) Breakfast is probably OK if you are used to italian style, but not if you want a continental breakfast. It is served from 7 to 10, and we went down at 9 to find litterally two small pieces of cold bacon and a little bit of (cold) scrambled eggs, and they were not planning to bring more.
6) Minor thing: all the furniture is pretty old.
Conclusion: This is far from being a 4 star hotel. Don't let yourself be driven by position, with that money you can find a much more relaxing hotel. This is certanly not worth 120 euro/night.

Room Tip: Well, change hotel..
