“Don´t even get me started. (Tour to St. Moritz and Treno del Bernina)”
This tour agency has been one of the worst that we have had in quite a while, considering the high prices that they charge per tour. We got to their meeting point near Castello Sforzesco early in the morning. We were greeted by a very kind lady and we thought that we would have a great day. We got on our way and one hour into our trip, we had to stop and wait for some passengers who were coming from Bergamo. Afterwards we made a quick stop to use the toiled and get a little breakfast as the meetup had been schedules for 8 in the morning, giving us no time for breakfast. The lady only gave the whole bus 15 minutes to be at that location which I thought was a bit short considering all of the other tour busses and other delays. After that we kept on going in our tour bus which brought us to the city of Tirano. Here, they gave us one hour to "discover the town" but also to have lunch. The charged a very high price for the lunch I must say, and it wasn´t even good nor plenty. The lady told us that if wanted lunch we would have to book it with her as all other restaurante there would be closed. To our surprise, there were many cafes and bistros opened at the time we got there, much better looking than the place they took us to. Some of our fellow tour goers even went into other restaurants after the actual lunch to fill in the space that the tour lunch failed to fill. I would like to reiterate the high prices for the lunch, which did not delivered what it offered. After the four hour bus ride, we got into the panoramic Bernina train. This train ride was very beautiful and a very good option to see all of the wilderness of Switzerland, although it went very slow compared to any other sort of transportation. When we finally got to St. Moritz, we were again told that we had one hour and fifteen minutes to explore the town (After 6 hours of travelling.) We thought that even if this was a very limited window, we would be able to see something. The guide though, told us that we had to wait for everyone to meet and gather up so she could give us some instructions on meet up points and else. This shrunk our window to 50 minutes while everyone got there and the lady gave her vociferous instructions. It took us another 5 minutes to get to the center of town just to find all of the shops, boutiques, and restaurants closed. I just thought that after paying the agency for a properly structured tour, they could have at least checked that the shops and amenities of St. Moritz would have at least been up and running. The only thing we found open was a souvenir shop and a small cafe where we had some sandwiches to go as we were running low in time. St. Moritz is a beautiful city and I would have loved to go around and visit it a little more and it was such a pity that we had to leave in such a hurry. The worst part hadn´t occurred yet. When we were going back to Milan, thankfully in the bus in a quicker and more direct manner, we dropped off the people from Bergamo in the same location we picked them up at. After almost half an hour on the road after dropping them off, a lady called and said that she had forgotten her purse. The guide instead of asking her to pick it up the next day in the tour agency like all agencies do, without even asking the tour goers, decided to make us wait until the van with the Bergamo people came to get it. We sat still in our place in at a gas station for over 30 minutes doing nothing and wasting valuable time. We were very annoyed and even after insisting that we kept going, the guide and the driver ignored us. This tour agency left a lot to desire and we will surely not use them again or recommend them for the same reasons. I would recommend that they improve their planning, and shorten their stops to be able to enjoy the actual destination that was advertised and payed for.
