“Location Only”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2014

I stayed 2 nights in this a hotel for a quick trip to Milan and wanted a reasonably priced hotel.
The hotel location was really good, nice walking distance to a lot of attractions. The hotel itself was outdated and in need of serious refurbishment. The lobby, the rooms and the breakfast areas. I understand that some rooms are recently renovated, but the rest of the hotel should follow.
The room size was good, the bathroom and shower was completely outdated.
I don't think i would stay again at this hotel

We were lucky enough to stay here for 1 night, the hotel was wonderful, room was a nice size. Staff was friendly and very helpful, restaurant served very good food and had a very nice breakfast the next morning. The bed was very comfortable I would recommend this hotel for anyone planning to stay in Milan.

first thing you ll notice if you choose this hotel is its brilliant central location and cleanliness. decor is not that modern but nice. just across the road from the famous via manzoni and 5 mins away from nice restaurants and bars. To walk to the duomo it takes approx 15 mins and its a nice walk. the rooms are not big but the bed we had was very very comfy. bathroom quite small but clean. breakfast is served in a cute restaurant just over the reception area. food is nice and fresh. all the sraff at the hotel are lovely and helpful especially at reception. i would highly recommend this hotel for a pleasant relaxing stay. our room was at the back overlying a quite courtyard. probably rooms fronting the main road could mean they d be noisy so avoid. ask for room at the back.

Yes, the rooms are not huge and the entrance is not imposing, but at least this hotel has some character and charm about it. Good location for central Milan and for getting from Linate airport. Breakfast and amenities pretty good, with friendly and helpful staff. But if you want a gym and such things then look elsewhere.

The hotel has tiny rooms and though the staff are friendly, the place is definitely overpriced and I would not recommend it anyone, unless you are on a business trip and your firm will manage to get a discount.

Room Tip: Not a standard room, and book in advance!

Having read some of the reviews of this hotel, I am beginning to wonder whether I stayed in the same hotel or not. Perhaps I stepped into some kind of porthole and perhaps I was transported where all the rooms are six square metres, the walls wafer thin and the window looking out on a whole lot of other walls.

For the amount of money that was spent on this room, I think the word disappointment doesn't quite cover it. I know I am travelling alone but the room was seriously inadequate. You could hear what was happening three rooms down, which meant sleep was difficult to come by (especially when the man next door decides to bring a guest at 5am, not the hotel's fault of course).

The work area, if one could call it this, is what held the television up and the Internet is eight Euros a day. For eight Euros you get a fairly dodgy service at best, don't send any attachments in your emails, you could wait for a while until they get sent.

The size of the room was shocking and the room, in its entirety, is in serious need of a facelift. Honestly, what hotel still offers shower doors that open into the shower? After your shower, depending on your size, you've got the added pleasure of making love to your door for a little while. Seriously?

Normally, I would have asked to change rooms or if this was the best on offer but one look at reception staff, and I knew that was going to be difficult. Unless you look like a businessman who has got a bit of money to spend, you don't really get looked at. Each time I asked for my key, it landed on the desk without as much as a nod. Probably serves me right for travelling in cargo pants but I guess you can safely assume I will give the Cavour a miss next time.

Dear Sir,
we thank you for your comment Always helpful for us. We just increased our Internet connection. Now it is an HDSL with a strong guaranteed bandwidth. Anyway after your comment we shall try again the speed and if this will result poor we shaal increase again.
About the size, of course we have no 6 square meters wide rooms in our hotel. The size of our classic room is the same you can find in most of the hotel in the center of a big city in Europe. Anyway if you will like to come again to the Hotel Cavour, we suggest you to try an executive room: you shall can enjoy rooms sized from 37 to 54 square meters.
