“Overnight near Centrale train station”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

This hotel was nice and close to the train station in central Milan. It is difficult to find.
The food in the restaurant was average and pretty pricey, but the service was good.
The rooms are spacious and decked out decently.
The bathroom is clean and a good size.
We went in January and the heating was overpowering!

We needed a room for a family of 4 as travelling with teenage kids. They catered for us with an enormous room with 2 double beds. All very comfortable. The holel is a little tired with a 70's look, but was very clean overall. The rooms were well equipped. It is not central, if you are planning on going into the old city, but it is near an underground station that will take you into the old city. It is very near the main station if you plan on travelling by train. The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. We did not eat in the hotel so can't comment. All in all great value for money when travelling on a budget.

I was in the hotel with my family (totally 4 people). I was mpressed with comfort and cleanness of the room.
The room was very large. Compared to it, the bathroom is tremendously small, but equipped with everything you need.
Two things to be possible improved:
1 Breakfast: no real coffee but coffee machine.
2 Heaters control in the room: no chance to reduce the heaters and had to open the window to make my room fresher (not to bad anyway.)

Room Tip: Very comfortable.

Yes, there are many different hotels in such a great city as Milan, the capital of Lombardy. But I was really lucky to make reservation at this hotel ( it was my first time there!). My suite # 141 was all I needed. Location of the UNA is great - quiet street, 5 minutes from the Main Train station and 15 minutes walk to the historical center ( Piazza Duomo, Cathedral or La Scala). My room (a suite in fact) was so great - sometimes I just wanted to stay there and enjoy it instead of going somewhere. Special thanks to the front desk people (especially very young and already experienced Marco Rusconi, Gabriele Serranti and Daniel). Any, even greatest place could have some minuses, and some guests may dislike the elevators. Yes, the elevators are pretty small, but for me it was enough and I never experienced any big delay. The food was great. And if you follow my advice and stay in UNA Century you are lucky and feel yourself as AT HOME. See my photos and believe your own eyes.

Room Tip: If you could afford a suite do it, you'll never regret!

This is in a good location close to Milano Central station. Breakfast was good.

The hotel rooms are large, however the space is dated decor, not what you would expect for the price paid!!

This hotel is a rip off trying to charge 25 euros a day for wifi. Over priced mini bar...

The rooms are uncomfortable as there is no fans or air conditioning and to cool the rooms down you must open your windows.

Miserable staff, how they get 4 stars?

Room Tip: I wouldn't stay here again... There so many nicer places and cheaper!

The rooms in this hotel are spacious. There is a sliding partition covering from ceiling to floor in our room that can be used to cordon off the bed from the living area, effectively making that a bed room. The room was kept reasonably clean during the duration, 4 nights, that we stayed. However, the house keeper was negligent to replenish toiletry supplies on two days. Another plus for this hotel is that it is situated very close to the Milan central train station. One minus for this hotel is that it charges for internet connection; it costs about 15 Euros per hour or more (don't remember exactly). One more side note based on our experience, it is much cheaper and very easy to buy train tickets in Europe than in the States.

How to get there
Firstly, upon landing in Milan, get the 5 euro bus to central station from outside of the airport door, roughly about 10kms from the airport. Once there, walk around to the front of the station go through the station to the opposite side, walk across the road and you’re on Fabio Filzi, then left and keep going for 5-7 mins. You’ll then get to the tiniest sign to let you know you’ve got to the hotel; it’s in smack bang in the middle of other buildings!!!

Hmmm… the rooms are very big. But it’s space vs it being very dated, a bit 1970s, carpets, rooms, beds all need updating. It’s clean, the breakfast is ok, the staffs are great and very helpful. Beware the tourist taxi that was applied Sept 2012, this is per person and is dependent on the star rating of the hotel, e.g. 4star 4 euro per person per night. Not sure it’s But it was fine but definitely not worth the price you get on the internet. It was very hot in these rooms and no matter if you turn the the aircon off or on, it was just constantly hot.

Metro Travel
The metro is very close a few mins walk to central station metro. Get a Carne card (November 2012 13.80euro or 1.50euro for single trip), it’s allows for 10 trips on the metro, these can be bought from any tobacconist or any shop with a T sign. If you walk the opposite way, you’re a 10 mins walk on the blue or yellow line at Repubblica metro.

There are many places to eat around this hotel, try the following restaurants:
Pane e Tulipani - Italian, excellent and not pricey
Kanji – Japanese, again great food and not too pricey
La Cadrega – Italian, excellent food, very pricey
Restaurant Limone – don’t even bother, very very pricey and you’ll be disappointed

Overall it’s an ok hotel. I’m not sure I would stay here again but it’s fine. The price on the hotel website is a bit overpriced for what it is..

Room Tip: I had a junior suite, but this was apart of the lastminute secret hotel deal.. if you do do a lastmi...
