“Great location for transportation and walking,”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

This was our last stop before heading home and we wanted just to have a place for a couple nights to relax and make it easy to catch transportation to the airport. We were upgraded to the exective floor so we enjoyed a large room with many windows that opened up the front of the building to leave in fresh air and the city sounds. The hotel is around the corner to the main train station and subway stop along with the bus transportation to the airport. Tip: take the bus to the airport instead of the train, runs every 20 minutes, easier to handle with luggage and the same price. The subway will get you down to the main sights within minutes. Walking around the hotel has a market where you can purchase some wine and snacks. Just a great overall location.

We stayed for one night recently and loved the size and quality of the room. The location is excellent, a short walk from the main train station and metro. Check in staff were very helpful with city maps and guidance. Only issue we had was that the room was too wam so we had to open the windows and it was then too noisy. That said we didn't report it and give the hotel the opportunity to do anything about it. I also hate the extortionate rates charged for wifi and avoid hotels that still impose charges when I can (this was a reward stay). Overall a good experience in terms of location, room comfort and staff service.

Room Tip: If you like to open a window then ask for a room not overlooking the road which is very noisy

I spent one night at the Hilton Milan.

the hotel is close to the main train station and you can reach everything in Milan easily by walking or subway.

The room had all expected amenities. My room was modern and inviting. The internet access was working fine.
The hotel was clean and the staff friendly.

Good and reasonable place to stay if you want a hotel to get a good nights rest.
The 24h fitness center was simple but a good place to get a quick exercise.

Literally 2 mins walk from the Milan Central Station, so easy access from Malpensa Milan Airport. We payed €20 each for return tickets from the airport to Milan Central station. The hotel have free WiFi in the lobby area, but for Internet access in the rooms you would have to pay extra. We walked from the hotel through the city to the Duomo cathedral it took about 35mins one way. There are lots to look at on the way, so not too bad. Day travel card for milan was €4.50 and that included Metro trains, busses and trams. The reception staff at the hotel were very friendly and spoke sufficient English. We stayed in room 321. The room was clean. The tv has some English channels to choose from. It had tea and coffee facilities, a safe, iron and ironing board and hair dryer. Also a desk and tea table and chair. The bed was very comfortable and in our room there was hardly any noise from outside. (Our window was facing a side road, not the front of the hotel. The bathroom is pretty standard and nice and clean. The shower was good. All round good stay right to the end. I would recommend it to friends.

The breakfast is very nice (not cheap, so consider getting bed and breakfast), the staff are professional, and the rooms are comfortable (not incredibly updated but fine). The location is ok, as long as you do not mind taking the Metro or the train. If you need to be in the city center,or right next to shops and restaurants, this is not a great location. The fitness center is adequate. The 20 Euro daily charge for internet is unreasonable. The hotel is closer to Linate than Malpensa, so consider that when you are arriving. While I did like this hotel, others there thought the hotel needed updating. This is neither the best nor the worst Hilton.

Room Tip: There is a lot of street noise. Perhaps ask to be at the end of the corridor and on a higher floor...

The location for this hotel is ideal if you wish to be near the central station. About a 20 minute walk to the Duomo and shopping. It is not 5 star; but, neither are the prices. Parking next door at 20euros is very fair for Milan. Rooms are large, very nice amenities and good services. You also aren't constantly tipping everyone with their hand out.

This is great value with excellent service. I would highly recommend!

Room Tip: No pool or spa

My partner and I have fond memories of this hotel, staying here many times over a two year period in 2006 and 2007 on business. When booking a city break a couple of weeks ago we decided to return to the hotel we had such good memories of, only to find it has now completely & drastically changed.
First off we used our Hilton points to avail of two nights. It seems if you do so you will be allocated the worst room in the property; just because your room is complimentary??
On arriving in to our third floor room I was immediately unimpressed by the dated, lack lustre furnishings and felt like I was in a time warp. The bathroom was filthy, I found not one but five black hairs in the bath, the mirror and bathroom fittings were smuged, like someone wiped a dirty cloth over them and left the residue without polishing properly. The room was also freezing and no matter how long we turned up the heating for we could not get warm at any stage (granted it was snowing outside).
Wi-fi was an extortionate €20 per day... WHAT??? In this day and age??? The only area to get comp wi-fi was in the lobby and bar area which we decided to avail of. This experience annoyed me even more. This hotel has to have one of the worst bar staff I have ever ever encountered in any property. You would think that they would be glad of custom on a quiet day (3 other people sat in bar)... oh no.... it took 10 minutes to get a beer, 10 further mintues to get an orange juice and what seemed like an eternity to get the bill (I am not exaggerating) with me eventually going up and standing at the bar waiting and waiting to get it and get the hell out of there (we had asked for the bill to be brought to our table, a request which was ignored). The gentleman working there was not one bit bothered with customer service, had no manner about him and obviously no love of the job to be bothered with his paying guests. Shame on him. He really really is a bad asset to the hotel.
To be fair we did come down the following day to have a coffee and were greated by a lovely girl who made up for the misgivings of the previous day.
Our encounters with reception were only at check in and check out... our female receptionist on arrival was more bothered chatting to her co-workers than engaging with us, gave us just the room number... no upselling breakfast, no info on hotel facilities, no 'enjoy your stay', just the room number. Check out however was more pleasant with a lovely gentleman making us feel finally welcome at the hotel (pity it was too late and we were checking out!).
The concierge was also a redeeming factor in this hotel - could not have been more helpful and informative.
This hotel was a real gem in a bygone era, staff 'fell' over you and I always felt I was experiencing 5 star treatment in a 4 star hotel. Unfortunately it can only be described now as a tired, unhappy and souless place and I'm sad to say we won't return.

Room Tip: Do not get a 3rd floor room
