“Chose for the car parking rather than location!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

Atahotel Quark is a funny place - it looks to be in a derelict suburb of Milan but inside is rather nice. We were driving and only had half a day to spend in Milan itself, so wanted somewhere we could leave the car without having to drive into the centre with good public transport links. The hotel is a quick walk to the Metro (and a tram line) so it ticked those boxes.

The welcome on reception was decent, staff were quite happy to supply maps and show transport links - there was some confusion with our booking (through LastMinute.com) but we were checked in. The room was a good size, more of a suite but was incredibly hot - it was a top floor room with skylights so sunlight had been beaming in all day. Air con wasn't effective so was a very hot night - for one night & issues with check-in we left that be, but would be very uncomfortable for a longer stay.

There's a couple of restaurants nearby if the hotel restuarant doesn't grab your attention, or a supermarket on the way to Metro station. Breakfast is buffet style, with plenty of variety.

Room Tip: Avoid top floor rooms

This wonderful hotel is one of the classical kind and is definitely good value for money in terms of the quality of rooms it is providing. Rooms are small apartments offering great comfort both to the accidental tourist as well as to the business traveller for whom this hotel is much more suited. The hotel has a good restaurant offering reasonably (for Milan) priced food. Breakfasts are generous served in a very spacious and airy restaurant, which is a pleasant experience in itself. Work of the reception was very friendly and helpful, overall impeccable. The only downside, quite serious for an individual traveller without a car and a bus transfer, is the hotel's location. It is located quite far from the main road, where there is a public bus line, so most often one has to take a taxi in order to reach a centrally located destination in Milan. This needs to be taken into account by individual traveller depending on public transport. But this has been the only negative point of my stay.

we were on a guided tour enroute to Switzerland. Business hotel room is large cleaned and nice but the door card used to open the door with magnetic strip sucks! It takes a long time to work and we are stuck outside the room door! Breakfast is good. nothing bad about this hotel
just that they may need to change the way the doors are locked!

Was there on business, at the hotel itself, so location was 100%. Room was nice and clean, just as expected.

The hotel was chosen because it is very close to the office I needed to go next day. Hotel looks awful from outside, very strange, however, the room itself was very nice and clean. Breakfast was nice, but as usual in Italy, rather basic. Nothing really good or really bad to say about this place, it will be ok to stay there for 1-2 nights.

After flying in from Singapore and then spending the day sightseeing, we were really pleased that our room was spacious and bedding were comfy. There was even a big walk in area for luggage (walk in wardrobe). Among all the hotel that we stayed in, Quark served the best breakfast! A lot of variety... not as much as what we are used to in Asia but the best in all the hotels we stayed in Italy!!

Room Tip: We took a triple sharing room and it was spacious!
