Located just across Milano Centrale, loved the location. Requested for hotel to store my expressed breastmilk for my baby in their freezer. They gladly did it but the next day they said its missing. We asked them to check with the colleague on duty that helped us initially and he said they dont have his number. Surprised that they dont have a record of stafff contact number. Or they could just be lying or lazy. Otherwise a good choice for its location. It was a very new, modern and clean hotel.

Picked this hotel for its convenient location. Turned out to be a good choice and saved lots of logistical hassels as I am staying in Milan for three days before boarding a cruise in Savona and the cruise got pick up point at the Milan Central Station which is stone throw away. Rooms are not big but new and clean. Staff very helpful. I arrived at 7 a.m. and was given early check-in. One minor defect though, the 'double bed' room I was first assigned turned out to be 2 single beds placed next to each other, and there was a split in between. Asked for room change on the following day and was given a room with a real double bed.

Location:
The hotel is very near the Termini, great if you're travelling via trains.
Take an exit from the station & you'll see coaches heading to airport, taxi queue & the hotel just straight ahead.
You can choose to take the metro or tram over to the Duomo or Montenapoleone, which is about 15-20mins away. Do try the old skool tram for a more interesting ride.

Hotel:
Rooms are small! Upon entering the room, there's a bathroom on your right (for me) & further on, would be the bed. Limited space to open up luggage. Seriously. No bottled water.
Nice clean, cozy rooms though.

They offer free wifi but 30mins for each id & password printed on paper given by the reception & only accessible at the reception area. It doesn't seem eco in this sense since they've got to print & give these slips to guests. Definitely not convenient as you've got to pay extra for wifi to be accessed in your room.

Breakfast spread was limited & totally same everyday. No change in variety at all.
No egg station at all! You've got to pay extra if you want to have your eggs done in another way.

For a 4-star & relatively new hotel, I expected better offerings for the price paid.

Stayed in StarHotels Echo in Milan for 4 nights from 16 dec- 20 dec 2012. When we arrived at Milano Centrale Station, didn't know exactly which side to exit to. But however, asked for directions from the security officer. We exited from the side with lots of taxis and where you can see the "Starhotels" sign glaring at you. Hotel is just 3 mins walk away from the metro.

Check in was quite smooth and you have to get the wifi password and username paper from the front desk in order to use wifi in the lobby area. Wifi in the room have to be paid for.

Upon first entering the room, the first impression it gave was pleasant. The room was quite spacious, comes with coffee and hot water flask. However, International TV channels were quite limited (as with all Italian hotels). If you are looking english channels, you are most likely to get only CNN or BBC.

My superior double room does not come with a bathtub, and the showerhead has limited amounts of warm water. Especially in the freezing winter, no one wants to leave the shower. Also, one negative point is the drainage system of the room was not working properly for 2 days, and we have to bathe in 3 cm high of "flooding" water in the shower area. There is not complementary bottle water in the room and water in Italy is quite costly. So I would suggest bringing your own bottled water or be prepared to pay for water.

This hotel has the better selection of breakfast variety through my stay in Italy, but compared to my other experiences, the selection of food is still rather limited in my opinion. Expect the normal variety of bread, pastries, cereal, ham, sausages, scrambled eggs and juice.

Checking out of this hotel was also a breeze. The front desk staff were quite helpful and fluent in english. Any questions asked will be answered without much difficulty.

I would say, if you want a convenient stay in Milan, go for it!

Room Tip: Got a room nearer to the lift area.

This hotel fell short of our expectation. As a 4-star hotel, the service quality there is surprisingly poor. The staff at the reception is totally unfriendly, impolite and unhelpful. We booked a double room. Yet, only one bathrobe and a pair of slippers were in the room. When I called the room service for another bathrobe and another pair of slippers, to my great astonishment the room service said they did not understand English and asked me to call reception. Then I called the reception. I ended up with a long wait - the staff who came with those things only came almost an hour after my call with the reception. When I questioned the staff why there was only one bathrobe and a pair of slippers given that we booked a double room, the staff said this was their standard practice to have only 1 set of toiletries even for double rooms! The staff was very upset with my dissatisfaction, slammed the door, and talked some gibberish in Italian rudely when he walked away.

The other day I asked the reception for some more shampoo. But nobody came, and our request has left unanswered.

The room does not come with a free WIFI, which is totally unacceptable since the other hotels we booked in Italy also provide free WIFI service in the room we stayed. This is really a big minus as their booking confirmation does not clearly state whether free WIFI is provided in the room.

Given our unpleasant stay, I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone who want to stay in Milan.

I found this hotel to be very good. Rooms are clean and modern with good shower. I was at the second floor and it was quiet to sleep. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was good and breakfast more than sufficient.
