“Great hotel for business, get breakfast included rate if going for leisure”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

I went here on business and it was great, though the food and drinks are pretty expensive, so if I was going for leisure, I would only go if I got a 'breakfast included' rate. Breakfast is Euros 45, and it's a good ten minute walk to breakfast spots, so you can't really just pop out for a coffee and pastry.
The room was very nice, lovely comfortable bed and great linens. Bathroom was excellent and nice Acqua di Palma products. Pool not huge, but big enough for a few lengths and the gym seemed well equipped.
Reception staff were a little frosty, but other staff, including bar and restaurant staff, room services and concierge couldn't have been more helpful.
The lobby area is great for meeting clients and service was very good. Food also nice, but quite pricey. Euros 18 for a tiny plate of sliced fruit, Euros 10 for a coffee, Euros 24 for pasta ragout which looked like a child's portion.
The room service food is almost better value - great spaghetti with prawns served by a waiter in the room - very civilised - and at Euros 30, including service, not bad.
I would definitely return for business (despite the Euros 9 a day charge for internet access - I always find being charged for this slightly irritating). If I was coming with friends / family, I would definitely go for a breakfast included rate. I am sure the breakfast is fabulous - just expensive unless you're going to indulge properly.

“Good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

It's a good hotel, very close to Repubblica metro station. My room was large and beautiful. I didn't try the breakfast because it was very pricey. There is a nice gym there, I worked out twice in 3 days. I stayed in another hotel the last time near this hotel, but this hotel is far better.

“Fantastic Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

When you stay at a Dorchester collection hotel you expected to be blown away and I did. The interiors were fantastic. I got an upgrade to a room with a view of the square and it was fantastic. Breakfast was divine. Sunday breakfast included some bubbly which went well with the cheese and the parma ham.
The key to this hotel are the interiors. They really give the hotel a feeling of class and luxury. The staff were very helpful. Comfort, Cleanliness, food and the room designs got A+ ratings from me.
It is expensive. But it is the Savoia after all!

Room Tip: Select a room with a view of the square and dont miss the breakfast!

“Understand why it is a landmark hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

It's classic ambiance may be a bit underwhelming for the contemporary enthusiast but the level of service erases any thoughts that this hotel is anything less than the very best " home away from home" in Milano. This hotel is brimming with all the juxtapositions a traveler seeks...sophisticated yet not stuffy, classy but never snobby, elegant yet comfy. The room service attendants make you feel like royalty as they tend to your every whim or fancy and the housekeeping staff leaves nothing to be desired as they pick up after you in ways you would never do for yourself. My only disappointments were with the concierge service which was inconsistent...with some staff members that were truly exemplary and others that made you feel like a complete nuisance. Suggest getting the plan that includes breakfast...inclusive of a wider offering than the norm. And, be sure to go to Bianco Latte, just a short 3 minutes from the hotel...it has the best gelato, pasta and bite-size sandwiches EVER (at prices you can't beat). Plus, you will find the most delightful assortment of truly "giftable" gifts in this adorable store and restaurant...for yourself and others you have in mind...
Lastly, as a solo traveler and female, I felt safe as can be. Happy and safe travels!

Dear Annette W,
thank you for sharing your review about your recent stay at Hotel Principe di Savoia.
I will make sure to share your comments with our room service staff, who are truly dedicated to the satisfaction of our Guests.

Also thank you for mentioning the question of safety, as that gives me the chance to stress with you that not only is Principe di Savoia a property that will of course welcome everyone and respect their privacy and needs, but also that Milan *is* a safe place for women travelling, dining and walking alone. Our hotel stands between the business district (via Vittor Pisani) and the main shopping streets (Corso Como, via Manzoni), and there are always people walking around until late at night.

As far as the concierge team is concerned, I am sorry if for some reasons they have not been able to provide you with the kind of total dedication they are usually known for, both in real life and on online reviews.
I hope to welcome you again soon, and hopefully this time you will bring back with you an excellent memory of all of us. Should you wish to choose our hotel again, please let me know in advance and I shall be most glad to prepare a warm welcome back to your home in Milan.

Sincerely,
Ezio Indiani

“Use carefully to get good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

This is an elegant hotel with immense charm and only 2 miles from the centre of Milan. Our superior room was spacious and great value at just over 400 euros per night. All the staff were fantastic but we found the additional prices for food and drink poor value. As an example two G&T's with two waters was £40 which is silly, no matter how many olives and crisps are put on the table.
There is an excellent and frequent courtesy limousine service into the City and back and the concierges have the timetable. Milan is a city with great heart and we found the Milanese warm and friendly so we headed to the city for breakfast, coffee, lunch and dinner. Look beyond trip advisor for restaurants; they are poorly ranked and the good ones are well outside the top 100.

Room Tip: Try for the lower floors on the front. There is little noise to worry about and excellent a/c in eve...

Dear David and Gillian,
thank you for sharing your review.
We like it when couples choose the Principe for their romantic getaways. I am delighted that you liked the free limousine service. As you noted, Milan is warm and caring and offers a variety of attractions for tourists.
Also, thank you for your comment about the bar prices. We will surely take it into consideration.

I'd love to welcome you again in Milan. We have an offer designed for couples that includes a massage for two and a three course dinner.
If you eve decide to visit us again, and we hope you do, please do not hesitate to get in touch and we will help you pick the best solution for you.

Sincerely,
