“Far too generous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

The deep fried risotto was new! And so very tasty... as were the mini red peppers stuffed with tuna-mayo. Very friendly staff, good choice of wines, just far too much free food.

“great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

My daughter is going to school in Lugano Switzerland and while we were visiting her she insisted that we travel an hour and half to go to dinner here. We had a great time but next time we have to schedule better our travel time.

“Delicious seasonal food, cosy atmospheric restaurant.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

Welcoming and engaging. Delicious food well described by menu. Interesting wine list. Cosy library style dining room. Feels very much loved by locals. Charming for visitors to Milan.

“Gerat place, poor service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

The interior/decor are brilliant - there's no denying that. Being amongst the first guests for a dinner sitting, our service was initially very friendly and attentive. The food was decent bistro food but nothing to write home about in a rush (for instance, my duck with raspberry sauce was literally just that, with some lettuce/rocket - strange that I was not warned it did not come with anything or asked whether I would like sides). And it was around the time of this main course that the service became very peculiar, i.e. non-existent. As the restaurant began to fill up, mostly with Milanese regulars/businessmen (though there were still plenty of waiters around and not all tables were taken), we were quite simply ignored/forgotten about to the point of sheer parody. We were sat with our empty main course plates for an hour. While nobody likes dessert forced upon them (and we thought, perhaps they were giving us the chance to finish our wine), we were ignored as the waiters decided to make more of a fuss over the regulars. It was quite a strange experience seeing the service go from one extreme to the other. After we had been sitting for over an hour with empty plates, empty wine glasses and even an empty bottle of water, we decided to give desserts a miss (scrumptious though they looked in the classic Italian pudding cupboard), pick up the bill and leave. I have scratched my head and have no idea what to put this service down to - for a short while I wondered whether it was simply Italian etiquette to treat diners to a very lengthy caesura between courses and we were being oversensitive, or whether perhaps we, being merely English speaking tourists, should not have expected to be treated with the same level of attention as the locals. Unfortunately, while I loved the design of the place and gobbled up every morsel on my place, service like this really cuts through the whole experience and I wouldn't return.

“Good Italian food”

Ambiance is nice, waiters are attentive and friendly. Food is pretty good overall. Everything tasted pretty fresh. Wouldn't mind going back there again.
