“Weekend stay in Milan”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

We had visited Milan a few times, staying at different hotels. I had managed to book this hotel pretty late and all the previous options were fully booked. We were pleasantly surprised that this boutique hotel was above our expectation in terms of location, very friendly and helpful front office staff, quality of room and bedding etc. Contrary to other tripadvisor reviews, We found Sunday in Milan not quite subdued. The luxurious brands shop( area in via Spiga )were opened, the restuarants in Brera were filled and the Eataly main store was opened as well. The Rinacentre and Duomo were as
crowded. We were happy to have spent the weekend here before our flight home.

UNA Maison Milan is a little gem 1/2 block from Piazza Duomo, the metro, taxi stand, shops, restaurants, and of course the gorgeous Duomo. The stop for Tram 16 to go to the Last Supper is across the street. Our room had a large bathroom with the best toiletries (think high end hotel) and a separate small siting area. Breakfast was brought to the room and delicious. At the receptionist desk, tuna tea sandwiches or fruit in a shot glass were complimentary as was coffee/tea upon arrival. A good antipasti buffet was set up one night--the $7 fee was waived because they were about to close the buffet and had lots of food left over. The lobby is small but comfortable. The large jars filled with liquorish, marshmallows and lollipops at the entrance were a welcome treat. The staff (Ken, Debra, Max) were extremely helpful, warm and knowledgeable both before our stay (advice re tickets), during and after our stay (retrieving left shoes). There is a very small sign on the outside wall of the hotel. It is located across from Colors of Beneton which is a better landmark.

Room and location is perfect...Piazza Duomo is just one minute by walk. But if you want to have a breakfast in the hotel, you have to do in your hotel room. There aren't a place in hotel for breakfast, but it is not a problem because around the hotel you can find plenty of caffee for to have a deliciıus italian breakfast...I'll go back again :)

We only stayed one night, our last, on our Italy vacation, but this was a great place to be. As others note, it's almost within sight of the Duomo di Milano, and many other places worth seeing, even if time is short.

Every one of hotel staff we met was extremely gracious, friendly and helpful. They helped with getting our bearings and plotting out some good walks to take for our short time, and helped us make the most of it. They checked (and double-checked) our ride reservation to the airport the next day and seemed absolutely cheerful that they were able to assist.

The breakfast is not included, and when you purchase the breakfast, be aware that you get everything on the list plus items you specify. I wasn't sure what we ordered, exactly, but I can tell you that a single breakfast would have been plenty for the two of us. There was a lot more than we expected, and if there are two of you, and you order two of something (only one menu checklist for the room), it seemed like they would bring you *4* - you might want to try and get that clarified, or plan to pack a lunch with the leftovers!

A small hotel that if First Class. Extremely friendly staff. The best part is it is 2 minutes walk to the Plaza DUOMO and the square has plenty of taxis and the CitySightseeing Bus Line A, B & C has a stop. Plenty of restaurants.
Must see is the The Duomo (Cathedral). Italy's biggest Gothic building. Take the elevator to the top. What a view.

We spent 2 nights at Una Maison. We were greeted with a smile and a glass of prosecco (on request). We were escorted to our room and had the essentails explained. It is a lovely hotel in the perfect locatiion - just around the corner from the Piazza Duomo. It is also walking distance to other attractions. Our room had lovely decor with a large bathroom and was spotlessly clean. The staff were all extremely pleasant and efficient with great recommendations for restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return when next in Milan. I have recommended highly to family and friends.

Room Tip: Room 453 was lovely with french doors to let the sounds of the city life inside but when closed - to...
