“Good for business travel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

Reception:
Reception was pretty good. All requests got fulfilled with no problem at all and free extras were offered on arrival. Staff was very friendly.

Room:
Room was pleasant, though there was some generator/air-condition noise from the roof of the building. Bath was clean and bed was great (lots of pillows). Internet connection was ok.

Restaurant:
Food quality was ok/above average, but the prices were pretty high for the service offered in this restaurant. I would not recommend it as there a many places all over Milan with nicer atmosphere, better food and lower prices. Very sterile atmosphere.

Bar:
pretty much non-existant bar as it's kind of integrated into the lobby area.

Breakfast:
was ok; nothing special

Overall:
Very convenient for business, if you need a car and don't need to get to the city center. I would not recommend it for couples/holidays as there are many nicer (but also much more expensive) places downtown. Good value btw. and parking is free on street (was plenty of spaces whilst I was staying).

Room Tip: Be aware of the top floor; there might be generator/chiller noise from the roof.

Very comfortable stay but quite a bit away from the center of beautiful Milan. Popular with the business crowd with a good restaurant attached (but with a limited menu). Rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortable...everything you need to maximize your time while here. However, its not an interesting neighborhood nor a convenient location for most activities.

Stayed here while attending a trade show at the MiCo convention center. Staff friendly and nice. The location as other have noted is not great. Very industrial and not much in the way of bars or restaurants around the hotel. Must take a taxi or tram to get to anything. Tram to city is cheap and easy but takes about 25 minutes. They have a coursey van that can take you on limited nearby trips which is nice. They took me and others to the trade show and picked us up most days. Convention center about 10 minute drive away. If you have business in the area or are attending the convention center it is a good choice. If you are a tourist and want to see the city, not a good choice. Food in restaurant good but a bit expensive. Breakfast distinctly OK. The "eggs" were particularly offensive. Coffee machine not so good. Rooms were good size and comfortable. Relatively quiet are so good sleeping conditions. A good choice under the right conditions.

I have the impression that this hotel is not aligned for tourists. There is an issue of distance to the city center and the tourist sites. To put simply everything was... okay? The cookies are warm and delicious as is expected of any Doubletree property. The front desk seems to be uninterested with assisting customers (or maybe plain unhelpful?). Otherwise, the real gem in this hotel experience recently was the very kind and helpful driver who provided our shuttle to and from the hotel. For what it's worth, the shuttle really helps.

My room had a fine but more classic interior. Breakfast is good, but expensive if not booked with the room (ca € 90pn). Public transportation is available (but you have to look for it) or a taxi (€ 15 one way to the centre). So this hotel is not quite close to the centre and it will cost you much money getting there. An airport shuttlebuses is not available. My impression is, that these trips are to be done by a privat taxidrivers who have their standard € 50 one way (Linate). Somehow this is much money, but at late arrivals it might help you.

spent a night there for the second time now: nice rrooms , good sleeping quality, and perfect if there is a meeting to be helt IN THE hotel Otherwise you feel you are not in Milan, as the city center seems to be far away, especially if you take a look outside the hotel: only construction sites and nothing else. Service was friendly but not too efficiant.

Room Tip: no idea, they seem to me to be all the same

Perhaps it should get 4 points because it is located in an industrial, business, and neighborhood area, but I just can't go less than 5 because the hotel itself is great. It's maybe a ten minute tram ride to the Arch of Peace (http://goo.gl/LZGFB), from there a pretty walk through a big park and the castle grounds, a shopping district and into the Duomo area. Or you can take the tram the whole way to the Duomo.

Our room was spacious and had all the usual amenities to keep us comfortable on a trip: great bed, linens and pillows; a big bathroom with roomy shower and good towels. (No conditioner, ladies, so if you travel as light as I do, at least pack this!) There's a roomy closet that actually has lots of hangers--so often a rarity in a hotel. The desk is huge. We were on the courtyard/atrium on the 4th floor and at night it's very quiet.

I have to mention how nice the staff is--I wrote down a few of the names and wish I had noted more: Claudia and Allyson at the front desk (ever so helpful to weary travelers arriving late at night) and Fabrizio at the bar. He was such fun to visit with and genuinely a charming young man. The restaurant manager (so sorry to miss his name) was wonderful--in place from early morning until late that night and back again in the morning. When we remarked, he said he loves his job!

We wound up here because it was Fashion Week and all the hotels close to the city center were booked. If it happened again, we wouldn't complain.

As others have written, I wouldn't venture out alone in the evening as I would if we were closer to downtown. For us this isn't an issue as by that time of day, we're exhausted from walking!
