“Good wines, unimpressive fish, open till late”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2012

I went to this restaurant because they still served some of the food on the menu late at night (after 12am) and not a lot of other options were available. The place itself is quite nice the service was nothing special especially considering that the standard in milan is quite high. When i asked the waiter to recommend a wine by the glass he told me to check the wine list. Not good. I chose a glass of tocai that was excellent and after a pinot gris that was ok. The starter (small fish soup with vegetables) was not very warm and pretty untasty. The main course (fish) was quite hard and really nothing special when it comes to the taste. The price was a bit on the high 12 euros for the starter and 22 for the main course bit it's true that it is a late night service. Overall, i would not recommend unless you are looking for a late night option.

“Great lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2011

I went to La Cantina di Manuela for a business lunch. The food and the wine were perfect. Fast service, delicious food, nice atmosphere. If you are in the area and you are hungry I recommend this restaurant.

“Full of atmosphere. Delicious wines but food is really nothing special”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2011

Perfect for romantic rendez-vous or to taste excellent wine (the wine offer is amazing), don't go there for dinner cause is really disappointing.
the atmosphere is romantic with the typical wine cellar ambiance (high walls full of bottles of wine) and candles at every table.
They welcome you with a huge menu big like a photo album. It is full of delicious and famous wines. The food in barely 3 pages and it is mostly appetizers or snacks to accompany the wine tasting and just few dishes. The servings are minimal and everything is oriented to enphasize the wine.
We did ordered a dish of pata negra ham with crouton to share. We barely got 2 small slices per person. The main dish we ordered was a cous cous with vegetables and beef skewers with curry sauce.
The serving was minimal and the taste was on average. Our poor friend who ordered a cheese platter got 6 tiny pieces of cheese and that's it.
for dessert we ordered a mascarpone cream with chocolate powder on the top.
The wine ordered was really excellent, but the food, nothing special at all.
I suggest this place only for wine tasting, where food is just an extra to accompany the wine and not if you're looking for a restaurant. It is a good option for aperitivo cause you can share some platters with a glass of wine.. but if you're hungry and want a proper meal, don't go there!
