“Friendly and good value hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

If you want a resonably priced friendly hotel near the conference centre then this is for you. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Nothing fancy and some bits could do with a bit of decorating. Well worth taking a short walk into the town to buy some excellent gelato ice cream - at least 4 good ice cream shops to choose from!!

We had originally booked a quadruple room, however on our arrival we were advised that we were to be accomodated in an apartment very near to the hotel, which was actually better for us as it was very spacious!! The staff were all very welcoming & helpful! The hotel would do with some upgrading or at least basic maintenance to improve its overall appearance, however overall a very good basic hotel, very well located.

Although the staff is very friendly and welcoming and the hotel is well located close to the pedestrian city center and the lake, The lobby, restaurant, common areas and rooms are very old and not in good shape. The rooms and bathroom do not really look dirty but they are so old that they are not cosy at all.
Considering the status of the rooms, it is poor value for money.

We stayed here for 2 nights in july.
Its well located near to town & parking spaces are avaliable right outside if your lucky enough to nab one.
The staff are so friendly & by comparison to the food prices in town we found the hotel to do a perfectly nice 3 course meal for a fraction of the price. (its not mitchellen star food but its nice & great if your on a tight budget)
The hotel decor is a little dated but the rooms are clean & are a reasonable size.
All & all if your looking for a good no frills hotel this is an excellent choice.

Stresa was on my way to Milano, but I wanted to see Lake Maggiore. I saw the lake, but January means almost nothing, including all but a few restaurants, is open. The Hotel Meeting on the other hand, was very friendly, helpful and clean. A terrific location only a few blocks from the center of the town and the lake.

I've been there 2 nights...it is orrible, very very hold and evil-smelling. The moquette, the walls, the fornitures, the bathroom, everithings there is hold and uncared. The hall and restaurant too. The worst hotel I've ever slept in. It is very close to the railway station so during the night you can ear the noise of the trains running. Bad balance between quality and price. I do suggest no to go there.

This hotel is one of two in Stresa owned and run by the same people, the other one being Hotel Primavera.

The rooms are OK. It's not a luxury hotel but if you, like us, use the hotel mainly as a base where you sleep, shower and have breakfast, it will do you very nicely. The shower was OK in size and the room also had a small fridge/minibar. The hotel has free WiFi in the bar, but no internet in the rooms. They don't have a computer where you can access the internet, but there is one you can use at the Hotel Primavera (a couple of minutes walk away) for a price of €1.50 per 30 minutes. Also, reception closes at 1 am, which could be something to keep in mind if arriving on a late flight/train. If you are renting a car and want to park at the hotel, they don't really have a car park of their own. There is free parking in the streets available and there is also an underground car park, costing €9 per night.

The location is near Stresa town hall, a few blocks away from the beach. This is not a problem, as virtually everything in Stresa is within walking distance. There is a grocery store open until 8 pm just around the corner and the Piazza La Cadorna (with several restaurants and shops) is just a couple of minutes away from the hotel.

The staff are very friendly and are only too happy to help. We booked tables at restaurants, airport bus and a couple of excursions through the hotel and it all worked very well.

On the whole, hotel Meeting provides good value for money and works very well as a base for exploring the area. If you are after the Belle Epoque luxury experience, then you should really try one of the grand hotels at the beach promenade (which will have a different price tag).
