“Perfect Honeymoon...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2005

Words cannot even begin to describe how absolutely perfect our honeymoon was at the Antico Palazzo! The room was clean with an beautiful view of the lake and surrounding mountains. The grounds were in perfect shape and well maintained. The breakfasts were absolutely wonderful and tasty. The hosts, Massimo and Natalie Sorotsky, made every effort to answer our questions and provide to our requests. The second evening they even arranged a wine tasting for us, a couple from N. Ireland, and another couple from England. The wine, converstion and laughter, was as if we were among old friends.
My wife and I will return to the Antico Palazzo as often as possible.

My husband, friends and I unfortunately had only one night to spend here. The service provided by the owners of this establishment made you feel that you were visiting close relatives and made you feel comfortable from the moment you arrived -- they even met us with champagne upon our arrival and then escorted us to our rooms. They had pre-arranged dinner reservations at a local establishment for us prior to our arrival -- and their decision was great! They even ate at the same restaurant as us that evening. We visited in early October, just prior to them closing for the winter, and the grounds of the hotel were still spectacular -- we would love to see them again in the spring when everything is in bloom. This hotel had a great location with a beautiful view, just a few minutes drive to the town of Stresa. We were all so sorry to leave for the Milan airport the next morning. Next time, we will definitely stay here longer. It was wonderful!

Stayed here in late September 2004 and I still feel compelled to write something as late as December. I have stayed in five star hotels all over the world and while this is not one of them, it is still one of the stand-outs of all the hotels I have visited. The rooms are not luxurious, rather they are rustic and perhaps a little basic but that did not matter. Try for the room with a balcony at the front of the hotel overlooking the lake and you are unlikely to regret it. The magic of the place is in the setting and the ambience. It has one of the best gardens I have seen in a hotel and the setting for breakfast on the terrace is stunning. It feels like you are staying less in a hotel and more like the guests of an aristocratic Italian family, with American levels of service and friendliness. Take their advice on everything from restaurants to sightseeing and you will not go wrong.

Lovely, from start to finish, top to bottom. A special place, run by the best type of small inn managers: warm, helpful, but never intrusive. The location - a short uphill walk from the center of Stresa - is ideal, offering convenience and quiet.

One of our highlights of the trip to Italy was our stay at the Antico Palazzo. We loved the house full of art and antiques, very tastefully done. the gardens were a joy and best of all were the owners, Natalie and Massimo, who were friendly, helpfull, and just a delight to deal with. The Palazzo is just 4 blocks from downtown Stresa and the lake front. The owners recommended some very good restaurants in town and several interesting outings to the islands on the lake and to the alpine region. We plan to return to the Antico Palazzo for a longer stay and more of the same great hospitality

Have just returned from the most magical week of our lives, staying at antico palazzo. We have had the most spectacular wedding we could ever have hoped for ,and we couldn't have done it without the help and organisation of Natalie and Massimo who are truely gifted at hospitality. All of our 65 guests were amazed, and said that it is a venue and day that they will never forget. It really is a fairytale location, and you are looked after so well during your stay( and before in our case , lots of email questions !!).Everthing was wonderful and it was the most perfect time we have ever had .xx Adam and Colette

After reading the many reviews about Antico Palazzo, it is difficult to elaborate more on our unique experience as so many have done before us. Like no other hotel we have ever visited, the warmth and sincere effort by the owners, Massimo and Natalie to make our stay a memorable one cannot be put into words! They made us feel like Royalty, yet with the warmth of "old friends" that you have known for years.
Driving up the driveway you definitely feel your choice to visit Antico Palazzo was a wise one! Spectacular grounds with outrageous views of the lake and mountains. And once you have experienced Natalie's wonderful breakfasts on the balcony you will know that this is without a doubt an experience to remember!
