“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

Love this place - top service, fantastic crockery and silver plated 'gigi' tea pots, to die for cappuccino, hot chocolate and pasticerrie - can't fault it.

“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

We stayed in the Gigi hotel above the bar. It was an excellent price (very reasonable), great location for the sights and activities in and around Stresa. We were given a room with a balcony and an incredible view of the lake for our 5 days there. The bar staff were fantastic and their hospitality and warmth made it a stay to remember. I would love to go back and can highly recommend the cappucino's and pastries.

“The vent from the 50's”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2012

This is a meeting point for the milanese people who come down to see their friends in Stresa. Drinks are perfectly served just like in the old days. These people are professionals. Their pastries are superb. The settings excellent. In summer you can sit outside and admire the lake and see the people walk by. Very pleasant.

“One of a kind”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2012

This is not a bar, nor a pasticeria but nothing short of an institution in Gtresa. It takes your mind back to the movies of the 1950s - the place is caught in a time warp and probably has not changed much since then. The perfection of the drinks and Pizette served with them, the meticulous service, the divine pastry and, yes, a great cappuccino..... but have you tried the hot chocolate, or the iced cream cakes, or their panetone or just a Bellini or Mimosa made with peach juice and orange juice squeezed from the fruit on the spot? The only thing they might like to update just a little is their late night pianist. Music has not stood as still as the Gigi bar since the 1950s.

Go there - it is a must when you are anywhere near Stresa. PC
