To avoid any misunderstandings - the food was gorgeous, still we certainly won't return and I cannot recommend the restaurant either. Why? Well, the service was an absolute non-starter (apart from the lovely lady who actually brought the food - she was both friendly and efficient). Whilst I know that the maître d' is a somewhat essential element of formal Italian dining and that the guest kind of has to accept to be treated like a supplicant, the whole thing becomes a rather comic experience when the maître d' mixes up the orders (we had ordered two different Gnocchi dishes (we _never_ order the same dish) - he had the same dish delivered twice).
The consequence was that this course arrived twenty minutes after the course of my co-dinner (no further courses after this splendid experience). Sequential dining, what a pleasure. And of course, no word of excuse, no deduction from the bill.
In the end, as far as the service is concerned, it was an "all show but no go"-evening... We probably won't return, as far as formal dining is concerned, the area certainly offers better alternatives...
