“Very nice surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013 via mobile

We spent a night in Stresa in our way to Milan and at our hotel this restaurant was recommended. We arrived with no reservation and we were advised to wait for 30 minutes. Meantime ,while leaving two clients mentioned us the food was great. Then we were seated, the staff composed by only two ladies was very attentive and friendly and they offered the menu and wine list. Aside of the regular menu they were offering three additional dishes with porcini mushrooms and we selected two of those dishes. Food was superb and not expensive at all, service great and friendly. We can recommend this restaurant without any question.

“Great food, Great Value.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

A little jewel of a restaurant, don't be put off by first impressions, this place is well worth a visit. A small but very interesting menu with friendly helpful staff. I wish we had a restaurant as good as this where we live. We found the portions plenty but if your a double burger person perhaps it may not be for you.

“Looking for Quality?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

Come here.

Excellent food, nice atmosphere, great service and a delicious local Barbera D'Alba equals a great evening!
Had a nice table in the corner and observed we were one of only two tables with tourists, the others were all locals...always a good sign.

Not cheap, but you get what you pay for here. Highly recommend.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013 via mobile

Nice staff the orders come quickly.... And the food is special, you can feel the love they have for the place and their customers... The salad with duck and the lamb are very good so it is the guinea fowl .... Worth trying is different than usual tratorria but with the same warm atmosphere

“Quality restaurant where the owner's endeavour to impress and in doing so achieve great things.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013 via mobile

We were lucky enough to get one of the outside tables having booked earlier in the day. This restaurant is tucked down a little alleyway creating a local feel. The service was terrific, the food was very tasty. Special mention to the octopus starter and the guinea fowl main. I've read a couple of reviews complaining about portion size. I can't agree. This restaurant offers a different dining experience to the norm in Stresa. Plenty of other establishments offering standard fare if you want quantity over quality. They hit the spot in offering fresh, cleverly prepared food in a lovely restaurant with excellent service. I'd highly recommend a visit.
