My husband and I spent two nights here in early June. Although located on the main road into Stresa it's not too noisy and the lapping of the water on the lake woke us in the morning. The beds are comfortable and king size - we had a second floor lake view room with a balcony. There are no conventional curtains on the windows, just net curtains, paying homage to the sunrise view the location is famous for. A light sleeper, I still managed to sleep until 8.30am! The meals here are delicious - breakfast is a cold selection of pastries, bread, jams and cerea with the option of ham, hard boiled eggs and salami. Dinner is simply gormet. Seafood is a speciality but everything is very well done. We live in Sydney Australia and are used to dining in some of the world's best restaurants - this compared favorably to those, at a better price even! With the addition of free wifi (so we can write this review in situ!) we'd definitely recommend La Stacca for a stay, dinner or both.

Loved La Sacca. Although on the main road as most places are, the steps leading up to it gave it some distance from the road. An absolutely gorgeous vine covered area for breakfast really gave it that special quality. Although we initally booked this hotel on the food we unfortunately found out that the specialty restaurant was closed for the season. The regular dining room meal was very tasty though. The free parking across the road was great and you do need a car to get into town as it's a little bit of a walk. The town centre was absolutely gorgeous with lots of great eateries and shops. The hotel was spotlessly clean and our room was spacious with fabulous floor to ceiling window shutters which opened up on to a huge balcony. Most of the rooms had balconys but ours was even bigger than the bedroom. Then we had another balcony off the bathroom as well. Wow! Beautiful views of the lake even if it is misty. We were there towards the end of September.

This Hotel is 5 mins from The Center of Lake Maggiore, Right on the Lake if you just cross the road.

Its a warm cosy Hotel with excellent food...The breakfast was outstanding. Fresh and different every day...Lots to choose from.

Rooms were nice and clean spotless bathrooms always fresh towels each day.

The owners 2 ladies gave the best of service at all times.

You have your own key as door is locked at 7.30pm...no problem.

Bus outside the door to center..5mins. 1.10 euro every hour.

Room tip: Rooms on the back are quiter,,,the traffic can be a problem if you want to sleep in late.

The room was great with a balcony over looking the lake. We had a car and the parking was free and it was a short drive to the downtown area of Stresa. We only stayed one night but I wish we could have stayed longer. The town was so beautiful and the lake was amazing. Breakfast was great and the service was wonderful.

On the plus side the staff were very friendly and efficient. The cuisine in the restaurant superb and an excellant choice at the breakfast buffet. On the morning of our anniversary we were presented with a red rose and a delicious heart shaped fruit flan which was lovely.Room and en-suite very clean and the fact we had our little dog with us presented no problems at all.
On the down side the photos are mis-leading.The hotel is not right on the lakeside. There is a very busy, noisy road and a large building between La Sacca and the water.Plus the railway line runs right behind the hotel. The position is great for exploring around the lake but not for those wanting a peaceful, quiet location.
