“Great Hotel In Good Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2014

I've just returned from the Hotel Beau Rivage which was my 4th stay at this hotel. I visited as part of a Shearings Holidays tour, arriving on the 30th July for a 7 night stay. The staff are always friendly, and although some of the rooms may require some updating, they are very clean with good housekeeping etc. The food was good every day with plenty of the usual continental fare available for breakfast and dinner was also good. The service in the restaurant was quick, with friendly staff, and the location is central for the lakeside, and the ferry service. There were other people on the same tour who had stayed at the same hotel on numerous occasions, which always speaks volumes for the hotel. We'll certainly be paying another visit ourselves in a couple of year's time.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the hotel have lovely views of the lake and the Borromean Islands, however the...

Comfortable, clean hotel in excellent location. The staff were friendly and helpful. Although not modern decor the room and bathroom were adequate. We were only one floor up on the side of the building, affording a good view of the lake and road but noise was not a problem as the double glazing reduced it considerably. Air conditioning was probably the best we have ever had in terms of lack of noise and efficiency. There were three choices for each course on the menu and the food was fine. All in all a decent hotel at affordable prices.

I travelled with my husband and Mum for my niece's wedding in Baveno. My husband & I had a superb duplex room (with a lounge area upstairs and two bathrooms) but both Mum's and our rooms had beautiful views from the balconies across Lake Maggiore which were far superior to other relatives who were staying at the Hotel Dino and Hotel Simplon. The hotel in general was very welcoming, nicely furnished and very clean and the staff were all so helpful. We only had bed and breakfast but the continental breakfast was extremely good and I do not understand previous negative comments. I did not get a chance to swim in the pool but it looked very inviting! All in all a wonderful trip, perfect hotel in a perfect location, i would definitely stay here again

Room Tip: 311 was the duplex suite with a lake view, 315 was a smaller double room but with a lovely big balco...

I have just returned from the most amazing week at Hotel Beau Rivage. From the moment I stepped through the door to the minute I left, the staff were on hand to help with everything. I was given a map of the area and when I mentioned that I wanted to see around, Julia from reception ( who speaks almost perfect English) downloaded me timetables for the bus, boat and train.
I went up to see my room which had a lake view. And what a view it is !!!! The room has everything you would need and is very clean. The hair dryer is good too( I have used ones abroad before and they were very inefficient ) the hotel has many seating areas which are all decorated very beautifully and welcoming. The breakfast at the hotel was really good, plenty on offer. Cereals, fresh fruits, pastries, meats, cheese, eggs , yoghurt and breads and rolls. All of the waiting staff were very attentive. There is a lending library and lovely magazines. Outside has pretty, well kept gardens and plenty areas to sit in the sun or shade. The pool is lovely and clean and there is a lifeguard at certain times. Baveno is the most pretty little place. There are nice restaurants , cafés, and shops. The hotal is central to everything, a short walk to the boat or station and the bus is on the road outside. I have stayed in many top hotels around the world but none quite as welcoming as this one!!!!! Italy has a special place in my heart and now too does Hotel Beau Rivage.

Room Tip: I stayed in 209 which had a lake view with Juliette balcony. The rooms at the back of the hotel are...

Arrived at this hotel, minus luggage that was left behind at Edinburgh by the delightful Easyjet!!Straight away Marco at reception said he would take us to a shopping mall to pick up things we needed, (toiletries, some clothes etc). Even asked if we required money... All the staff at reception were fabulous, very caring. We got a balcony with Lake view, which was superb... Hotel is very central and spotlessly clean. Food is abs fine, pool area lovely as were gardens. Nothing at all to complain about, thank you all

Room Tip: Room 112 has a perfect view of the lake, on the main road, however after a day sightseeing sleep cam...

We stayed at his family-run hotel on the shore of Lake Maggiore for a week. Everything very clean and neat, if a tad old-fashioned, staff were enormously helpful and our balcony looked out to a beautiful hillside - quieter I am sure than the lake-view rooms that also overlooked the busy road. Our room was small but well appointed, pity about the twin beds though (we tied them together with string). Good internet access, and generous servings of drinks from the bar. We were on a package holiday and the food was generally unexciting, but pasta courses were always excellent. Baveno is a lovely little town, with tiny cobbled back streets and lots of mule tracks to explore, and frequent ferries allowing easy access to the islands and other lakeside towns. A real winner, and we can hardly wait to return.

Room Tip: For quietness chose a rear room overlooking gardens and hillside

I stayed at the Beau Rivage during a holiday with Travelsphere. The plus points are: great location, spotlessly clean, very nice public rooms and gardens and wonderful staff - without exception they were all extremely gracious, good humoured, knowledgeable and attentive. The minuses: tiny rooms, very poor sound proofing and extremely unappetising food. This is Italy for goodness sake! I think calling half a tinned pear with some squirty cream and a glace cherry ';dessert' is insulting to adults (well, and most kids too); the breakfasts were also very dull. Luckily we were able to escape and tried a number of restaurants in Baveno, all of which were very good.
