Was in Baveeno for a few days for training. Hotel was very good and had a dock, a nice patio, a pool, a few "beach" chairs near the dock. It would have been a good vacation spot for those who don't seek the sea but want water nearby. The lake itself is very cool with Swiss Alp water feeding it and alot of slippery smooth rocks on the floor. The hotel's food was pretty good with a decent breakfast buffet and nice lunch options at the hotel bar and restaurant. The sister hotel Dino down the road had some better lunch options and an indoor pool that you can use if you prefer to get an early swim in. Alfonso at the bar is very personable and keeps you engaged (even if your Italian is as poor as mine). Room was a mix of old and modern with modern entry way coupled with an older decor in the room. Bathroom was basic but hot water was hot and everything worked so can't complain there. Bed was pretty good as well, but I was glad they had extra pillows in the closet since the ones on the bed were pretty flat. Overall a great time, a couple of extra touches would have put it over the top. A lack of iron and ironing board in the room for one. There is a shared one at two locations in the main building, the lighting in the hallways seemed a little too dingy on the room floors, if they were going for an older look, it came off looking dingy. Housekeeping did a good job of turning down beds and providing some toiletries when used but if you got a swim in and came back midday, you might need to call for a second new towel even after the room was serviced. Overall a great stay and close to the ferry (short 10 minute walk) to check out nearby towns.
