“Classic Hotel with an excellent view of Lake Maggiore”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

This hotel looks very classic and traditional; it may be grand but definitely not for all. I myself prefers the more modern, resort or zen like type of hotels that's why I find this hotel just ok or at least good. The excellent part would be it's view of Lake Maggiore.

The hotel from its surroundings, to the common areas and SOME rooms are very spacious, however, there are rooms with matrimonial beds that are very small, so please ask the reception to transfer you to a bigger one of you find it not comfortable. The designs in the lobby, restaurants, pool, balcony and all are very classic and great, but I find their rooms too creepy for my liking, probably the reason why I had a hard time sleeping. But no worries, there are some who find the room romantic and quaint or charming, so it really depends on your type.

The bathroom was great! Very classic and huge, I loved it! The staff was really accommodating too! Like what I have said, the best part about this hotel is the view of Lake Maggiore. It was so beautiful!

Room Tip: Do not book the corner rooms facing the front of the hotels as room may get dark and creepy and with...

This is a great hotel. The rooms are spacious and well furnished. Our room had a awesome lake view. The restaurant is a great one. The indoor pool was also great. The hotel is at a walking distance from the boats if you like to get to the islands (which I recommend). the staff is well trained and super nice. Nice restaurant around the hotel where to eat.

This hotel utterly defies categorisation.

It looks alike a 1990s style building, on the outside (and with a highly questionable mirrored glass feature at the front that physically hurts to look at).
And then: inside it's an abundance of a myriad of different types of marble, hardwood and chandeliers that the term "excessive" does not begin to quantify.
There is such an amount of it that one would question whether you have been transposed to Las Vegas.
And yet - it manages to be smart, elegant and even tasteful.
It is an outstanding hotel in an outstanding location

The salons are large rooms gazing out over the lake and are quite spectacular places to have lunch.

The Wifi was brilliant, the only times it dropped/failed to connect was when there were a lot of people in the conference ballroom - but it was hardly a big issue: you just had to leave the room and go into the foyer and with the amount of people trying to access Wifi in one place and one time was hardly exceptional.

Buffets provided by the hotel for the conference lunches and the breakfast were among the best I've every seen.
I can't speak to what dinner was like but it was very expensive.

I agree with reviewers who ridicule a pool that closes at 8pm - it is nonsense.

As regard rooms - I was in the newer section above the conference centre, so I only had a view of a wall, with the Alps peaking above it. But I loved the room, large pleasant, and spacious, with suite features of a sofa and armchair. Bathroom was sumptuous.

Staff - you see then at lunch and reception were really friendly and helpful.

All in all - excellent.

I stayed in this hotel during a congress. The room (140) was small, but perfect, especially the terras overlooking the lago was stunning in the morning with rising sun. The service during the congres was fast and excellent. The breakfast was very rich, with good coffee. We had buffet diners, which were at a high level taking into account the number of people. Especially dessert was very fine. In the evening there is a fine bar with a broad choice and live piano on friday.

This is the first time I visited this hotel. It is situated at the beach of Lago Maggiore with a very nice view. The hotel is luxury and well furnished. The rooms are a little bit smaller than perfect however. The service is perfect, the rooms are clean and the breakfast is very good. Even the coffee is good. The lobby bar is also very nice.

Room Tip: Choose room with a view to the lake.

The location and views over lago maggiore can't be better. The rooms are spacious and clean. The style is very conservative with a bit outdated feeling. Indoor warm swimming pool was great. The downside: salad that I ordered for lunch had a very disappointing cheap mozzarella... Not the food experience I expected in Italy.

Beautiful hotel , Las Vegas styles . The pool was nice and clean. We love the hotel but it was too scary . The room was haunted 3 times in one night . We will never forget the images of 2 women that tried to kill us in our nightmares.
