“Clean, Bright & Service with a Smile”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2011

We stayed a week at this hotel, the good points are; Friendly & helpful staff, nice pool area, reasonably priced compared to hotels within the walls of the old town of Sirmione, good breakfast, strong A/C, bright & colorful room.
Bad points; (being picky!) ants in the bathroom and some in the bedroom one day, advertised as a 20 min walk to the old town of Sirmione, took us 30 mins easily. Rented bikes however and this was the perfect solution for us.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel to a friend and I would come back and stay here again. Thanks to all the staff at Hotel Suisse for making our stay very pleasant.

This hotel is Spartan at best. Small room (#110) with a sign in the bathroom that you should not use the shower in the bathtub. The shower hose IS in the bathtub! so how else are you supposed to use it? Okay, so don't sue them, but the hotel could put a non skid mat in the tub. The towels are thin, the walls are thin, the sheets are thin. No soap either. The front desk provided us with a control (looks like a remote control) that supposedly controls the AC, but it is clearly fake. Even requesting AC at the front desk, the device does not work. The thermometer registered 23 degrees C, no matter what one did. (The outside temperature hit 32 degrees C that day and the hotel claimed to have AC,)
Also, there is a warning that if you open the window, bugs will come in (and the mosquitoes did when we tried to use the window to cool off the room!). At breakfast, which was included and okay, there are warning signs saying that 1) the room is monitored with cameras 2) one is not to take food out of the room (as a way to prevent people from making lunch or a snack) and 3) that if they detect people taking an excess of food, they reserve the right to charge more.
In other words, this hotel really does not care about the comfort or care of its guests.
On the small plus side, it is within a mile of walking to Sirmione center; there is a small pool, which some people were using; the breakfast was okay.
We would not recommend staying at this hotel.

We stayed for three nights. Comfortable rooms, nice swimming pool with free bath towels. Staff is helpful and friendly. Also speaking Dutch.
Breakfast was ok. Free wifi available.
We paid 100€ per night per room.

Lovely rooms with comfortable beds and air conditioning. We booked a quadruple room - which surpisingly turned out to be a 2 bedroom room. Rooms are clean and well decorated. Bathroom a little dated. Balcony is small. Fridge and safe supplied free. Close to busy road - so some road noise can be heard.
Staff at reception are extremely helpful and spoke good English.
The continental breakfast had a good selection.
Pool was lovely and towels supplied by hotel (ask at reception), but was right beside the busy road. Limited food and drinks available (5 euro for a filled roll, 3 euro for beer, wine and soft drinks). Parking available. 20 mins walk to Sirmoine old town.
Tip - Good food at reasonable price in Erica restaurant on road into Sirmoine.

I have just returned today from a fantastic stay in lake Garda, the hotel was spotless the staff helpful in every sense from printing return air flight boarding passes to general information. As on many reports the hotel is a little far from the historic centre probably a good 20 minutes brisk walk but it is worth it.In the evenings if you wish to go out to eat rather than eat early in Sirminone turn Right out of the hotel and go 600m up the road towards Colombare were you will find many resturants all offering good fare .We ate at three of these places the last night [as always ] we came across the best a little place on the main road adjacent to the Hotel information unit just called Pizza Express, a menu that copied the most expensive we had used but at a third of the price well worth the walk.If you follow the Lake side walk towards Colombare there is the Campsite Pizzeria again good food and service with a view whilst you eat.In all a great place to holiday so much to see but take your walking feet with you, you will need them.

I stayed here for one night as a stopover on the way from Milano the the Dolomites. My overall impression of the hotel is even better than what I expected, so I feel it was a good choice, thanks to a combination of searches on Tripadvisor and Venere.com.

Judging by the amount of english-speaking reviews, this hotel does not seem to be used by many others apart from Italians and German speaking visitors, however, perhaps this is true for much of the Garda region. Speaking of which, the hotel lies within a good enough walking distance (20 minutes or so) to the entrance of the old town, marked by the marina and medieval Scaliger castle. Once in here, immerse yourself in a small labyrinth (well not really) of narrow streets and walkways, and add a trip to the tip of the peninsula and the ruins of a great roman villa - Grotte di Catullo.

The hotel was majorly renovated and refurbished in 2007, and it shows well - the interior is a classic Italian style with lots of vivid colours and strict lines and squares. The rooms are fairly small in size, but are completely soundproof, and the a/c was working perfectly (thankfully, as Sirmione in 32°C is quite a moist experience).

The staff is very pleasant and communicate well in english - especially the ladies. They gave good tips on where to go and where to eat - but unfortunately their suggested restaurant didn't open for dinner before 1900, so another place had to be sought out (not always easy).

Breakfast was fairly good for a small Italian hotel, with a good enough selection to leave us demanding germanic people satisfied enough. They only serve breakfast though - no other meals.

The hotel has a small swimming pool and garden, which is a sure winner among those who enjoy this kind of thing.

Above all, do not forget to sample some Italian ice cream - the best in the world. And good luck choosing among the up 40-50 flavours on display!

All in all the hotel was a very good choice for a first time visitor to Sirmione - maybe others are just as good - as there are plenty of hotels around town, but at 90 € for two including breakfast, it was very good value for money.
