“We want to be back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

We stayed at this hotel for three nights last week. The owners of the hotel were very welcoming and even offered us free drinks on arrival which was much appreciated after a 3hr drive on the autostrada! The lady in charge also gave us a very quick review of things to do in Sirmione. The hotel offers discounts to a couple of restaurants and to many of the attractions in the area.

The room was impeccably cleaned and serves the basic needs. Very comfortable beds and towels changed daily. Breakfast was also very good and there was a wide variety. We found absolutely nothing to fault. The reception is usually not manned from 3am till 6am. It was therefore very nice of the owner to stay up when on our departure day we had to leave at 5am. He even took care (with our consent) to position our car in the hotel car park ready for immediately driving away so as not to waste time maneuvering.

Our kids were also given a souvenir shirt :) All in all, highly recommended especially if you prefer to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Sirmione centre (a panoramaic 30 min walk from the hotel). Nonetheless, the beach and several restaurants are accessible just across the road. Gardaland park and Parco Natura Viva are just 30 mins away by car so very convenient if you don't like driving long distances.

We had booked to stay for five nights as part of the final leg of our two weeks in Italy. We had seen the reviews on trip advisor and were encouraged by the fact it is rated second best in sirmione. We knew in advance that we wouldn't be getting luxury, but we were ok with that on the basis that the service, rooms, location etc would be excellent.

Unfortunately we were disappointed. We did receive a lovely welcome from the hostess when we arrived, and she was extremely keen to tell us about the area, local restaurants etc. she helped us up to the room with our bags which was also really kind.

That's where things went downhill for us though. We were disappointed with the room. The double bed was in fact two put-you-up beds pushed together. The decor was dull and the bathroom was tiny with a faint smell of urine. We had just travelled from Tuscany for three hours and were now not only exhausted but feeling rather down as well. We decided to get something to eat before we made a decision about what to do next. We had booked online and hadn't paid up front.
We resolved to move somewhere else, however when we told the managers they tried to argue that we had used the room and therefore the cancellation policy did not apply (ie they wanted us to pay for 3 nights instead of one!). We had literally just got there, put our bags down and got something to eat! I sat on the edge of the bed while my husband tried to reason with them downstairs. They came up to the room and again insisted we had used it. Eventually we paid the price of just over one night (charged an extra 36 euros?!) and left.
There is nothing wrong with this hotel if you want something basic, but if you want a room where you feel you can relax after a day out I would advise against. I felt like we were in a youth hostel. The owners are really lovely (despite our argument with them) but it just wasnt for us and I doubt very much that it's the second best hotel in sirmione.

We booked for four nights based on the previous reviews and were not disappointed. On arrival we were greeted by Patrizia who spent time giving us valuable information about the area and a discount card for restaurants and the boats.
The room was nicely presented with plenty of hangers in the wardrobe. A compact shower was very efficient with towels change daily.
Breakfast was good with a great choice of coffees.
Being a family run hotel the hositality and service were very warm and friendly.

I stayed at Villa Rosa for 4 nights in April with 4 friends, and we were exceptionally pleased with our choice! The hotel is run by an Italian family who are so friendly and helpful, and always offered their help with excursions and planning our days, highlighting places they'd thought we'd enjoy.
The rooms we had were very clean, well decorated and had good sized balconies with views of the lake. Breakfast was also an enjoyable experience, it was fresh with a variety of hot & cold choices, scrambled egg, bacon, warm rolls as well as fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, bread & jams.
It is situated in Colombare, about a 20-30 minute walk to Sirmione, which we would have taken advantage of if the weather was nicer as it was alongside the lake with beautiful views, but we chose to get the bus most days, which was cheap & reliable. There are some local restaurants within a couple of minutes walk though, I'd recommend Roberto's and Camping.
Overall, an excellent hotel with lovely staff offering good value for money.

The family that runs this charming Hotel is awesome. They are so friendly and gave us so much of their time to suggest sights to see and places to eat. They are just the loveliest people. We had a very enjoyable 3 nights at Villa Rosa. Room was very comfortable with balcony and view of Lake Di Garda. Only 20 minute walk into the historical centre and so much easier to park away from the crowds. Breakfast was also magnificent. No complaints, full marks and thanks for a great time Villa Rosa and family. Grazie mile!!

Lovely villa painted in warm colours with ornaments that add to the atmosphere, great views of Lago di Garda, owned by a charming family who were so helpful giving advice about places to visit in the area. Immaculate room, tastefully decorated, good breakfast. High recommend Villa Rosa, good value for money.
Sirmione is a gem of a resort, quaint, with crenelated castle. We drove around Lake Garda on a day trip which is a very pictoresque route.

First of all, I'd like to mention very-very-very pleasant staff! They are really helpfull, polite and ready to meet your demands.
Rooms are avarage size, clean and equiped with new furniture. AC worked well, but was positioned in a wrong place (opposite the bed).
Breakfast was very poor.
Center of the city is 20 min walking for a grown-up. Beach near the hotel is not equipped for swimming at all.
