“Hideous salmon exterior, beautiful, modern interior”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

OK, so never judge a book by its cover, yet we all do. This is a salmon colored lump from the outside. But it's perfectly situated, right on the lake in the heart of Sirmione's old town, and is stunning within. It's been recently renovated so if your preference is for traditional rather than modern you may want to think again. We absolutely loved the spiral deco staircase, the 70s-style armchairs and vibrant colored fabrics. Rooms were very spacious as was the bathroom, plenty of cupboard space and well stocked mini-bar. Breakfast was fit for a king - from smelly cheese to prosecco, croissants to fresh strawberries, smoked salmon to individual pots of preserve - offering something for even the most fastidious. Or conservative. The outdoor terrace was a delightful destination for breakfast, or for reading a book on a sun lounger watching the ferries go by. Wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. Oh, and free WiFi, including a very handy public computer terminal in the lobby. Only watch out I'll offer (since everyone else has mentioned how impossible it is to find by car on arrival) - the lift's got teeth; press any button once you're inside and the doors snap shut with alarming rapidity so mind your limbs.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and were delighted at the helpfulness of the staff. We were given an upgrade on arrival to the three best rooms in the hotel overlooking the lake (but they all did) which were spacious, clean and modern. We were travelling in 3 old MG sports cars and unfortunately our car broke down as we arrived in Sirmione but was soon fixed thanks to AA European breakdown insurance. The manager even loaned his new Range Rover Evoque to one of his staff to transport us elsewhere on one occasion- how helpful is that!
All in all, well worth the stay.

We stayed at the Hotel Eden for our 7 day Honeymoon in September 2012, having taken the train all the way from Fife we were greeted by welcoming staff who helped us get our luggage in and took it up to our rooms. The refurbished rooms were beautiful and our room (308) had a stunning view over the veranda and lake.

The hotel is close to the main entrance to the island part of Sirmone and there is plenty of beautiful resturants and cafe's to eat from, we tried a different one each night, and more ice cream shops then we could count.

There is plenty of history and old builds on Sirmone, which we spent the first day looking at and with such a great location and many ferry's we could day trip easily to any othe the other coastal towns around the lake. We chose Limone and were not disapointed as the village hugs the mountains and the lemon groves are wonderful.

We had an amazing time and the hotel was key to all of it as it's good location, great staff and working air conditioning meant that at the end of each night we could curl up on the outside sofa's with an ice cream and campari and watch the truely amazing sun sets.

We'll be coming back, and recommend it to anyone!

Room Tip: rooms on the first floor and ground can be noisey due to cleaners, the upper floors offer more peace...

Who knew Sirmione was as packed as a can of sardines from the sea? And the hair-raising 2 mph drive on the streets jammed with people, bikes, motorcycles, cars, strollers, trucks, and others sharing the narrow roads? Still, the hotel sits on the edge of the lake, as gorgeous a place as ever you'll see. A very friendly and helpful staff made our stay comfortable and safe. The ferries came and went just next door; the gelaterias were packed night and day. For a short visit, the Eden was quite a nice play to stay.

Room Tip: Not a hotel to nap in during the day because of the ferry traffic next door.

We stayed here for 4 nights and couldn't fault the hotel. The staff (especially on reception) were so helpful and friendly. Breakfast had a good selection. The location is very central and the hotel has lovely views from the terrace over the lake. It is next to the ferry landing stage. We were on a fairly tight budget so did not have a lake view room. Our room whilst small was clean and comfortable and because we overlooked the Piazza a little noisy at times but we adjusted! Would definitely stay here again.

We were not dissppointed in this lovely hotel. Our standard room was OK , in fact roomy compared to the one in Verona! Very clean and nice decor. Fantastic views of the lake from our balcomy, Right next to the ferry stop. Good breakfast buffet and lovely yo eat outside enjoying the views. Patking is extra is you want to park closer alough it is free at their sister hotel which a few minutes drive away. Sirmoine is very pretty and the castle is lovely with great views from the top. I probbaly wouldn't stay there again as too busy - the little streets were packed with peolpe. Nice walk around the penisula with a view right up the lake. You cannot take your care into teh town without a hotel reservation and then you have to drive thru tiny streets packed with peolpe all eating ice cream - rather stressful but great once you were parked up.

Room Tip: request a lake view

Located right in the heart of the downtown area and beside the ferry stop. Perfect location to walk around, shop, eat, etc. View is incredible! We had read reviews about the rooms being small, so upgraded to a suite, which was plenty of space! Staff is friendly. There is a floating dock for sunbathing and eating outside. Buffet breakfast is fine and they make your coffee of choice. Would recommend!
