The location of this hotel by the lake shore in the old part of Sirmione is great. They have sun beds on a sundeck built on poles in the water, from where stairs lead into the water (although ducks and swans may discourage some people from swimming there) and towels are provided. The restaurant where breakfast was served from 7.30 was adjacent to the sun deck and so we had nice views across the lake at breakfast, which was quite good with bread (especially the rolls with pumpkin seed were very tasty), ham, different types of cheese, yoghurt, cereal, fruit, omelette, tomatos, but the juice was from concentrate and not fresh (a menu showed that fresh juice cost €5 extra). The woman at the reception when we arrived was nice and helpful and spoke English well. We asked her about the possibilities to rent a car and she kindly offered to call the rental agencies and check prices and availability for us, and then gave us the phone number of the agency that had cars available. Our room was located in the annex building, which was across the street (Via Romagnoli) from the main building. The room was clean and had a safe at no extra charge. The size of the room was good and there was enough space for our things. However the beds were quite hard. Wifi was included in the rate and was supposed to work both in the rooms and in the public areas, however the connection was disrupted constantly when we tried to check emails in the room, so we had to go down to the public areas where wifi worked very well. So in general this was a good hotel. The main annoyance (which was however not the hotel’s fault) was that a very noisy rubbish collection vehicle on Via Romagnoli woke us up every morning between 5 and 6 am. Perhaps the rooms facing piazza Flaminia in the main building or rooms in the annex building not facing Via Romagnoli would have been better.
