We stayed here for two nights last summer. The hotel was really nice with beautiful gardens and a nice room. We opted out of the Lake view in order to save a few bucks, but still had a partial view of the water. The breakfast was delicious and couldn't beat the view of the lake as we ate in the garden. The room was quite warm even with the windows open. The best part of our stay was the staff. When the trains went on strike, they were overly accomodating to help us determine how to get to our next location for our stay. We really appreciated their willingness to help! You can also rent bikes from them if you would like to ride around the town a bit.

My husband, family and I cannot thank Hotel Villa Cipressi enough for helping to make our wedding day the most amazing day. We got married on 30th September at San Giorgio church in Varrena. Our reception was held at Cipressi and a number of guests, my husband and I stayed at the hotel. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out the staff at Cipressi were superb and we were treated like family. Nothing was too much trouble for them. One of the staff, Francesca even helped to calm my pre wedding nerves on the morning of the wedding. She helped me with the photographer, flower arrangements, favours and seating plan.
Cipressi is a stunning hotel with the most amazing views of Lake Como. Varrena itself is a beautiful tranquil village set on the beautiful Lake Como. We cannot think of a more beautiful place to stay - we will definately be regular guests at Cipressi.

We liked this place and would stay again. We were only there one night with two sons aged 17 and 18. We both had high celinged lake view rooms which were bright and cool with FABULOUS views out over the lake and the terrace below.
The guy on the desk was polite, efficient, friendly and helpful.The hotel restaurant was shut the night we were ( Monday) there so we ate at another place- try and book ahead if you want a table at the better, or smaller places, as Varenna is pretty small and most restaurants are in demand.

Breakfast was a fairly extensive continental type in either a terrace or an old stone walled room that we liked a lot.

You can’t really access the lake to swim easily from the hotel but there is a small stoney shingle “beach” just about 5 minutes from the hotel. Watch out, the lake shelves very steeply, but the water is beautiful for swimming. The hotel has an outdoor Jacuzzi that looks a bit naff.

Downsides? Well the parking is difficult, but it looked difficult all over the town. You can’t park right outside the hotel…just drop off, so getting bags in and out is a minor inconvenience.

Location is everything around here….Villa Cipressi lakeside rooms have all you want for a Como view….not sure if any have terraces, that would be good if they did.

Because we were only going to be in Varenna and Lake Como for two nights, I wanted something special - and that's just what we got our suite at the Villa Cipressi. Windows overlooked the Monastero Gardens on one side, and Bellagio across the lake on the other. The grounds and gardens were lovely too - so relaxing and great for a nice stroll or just to sit and enjoy the sun and view. Our room had a huge fireplace, two sofas, a small refrigerator, and table with four chairs. Only hitch was there is no parking available, and we had to park about one-half mile away. It didn't present any big problem because once parked, we didn't need the car until leaving. Varenna itself is absolutely charming.
