“Perfect Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2014

Our room was tiny but spotless and we had a balcony overlooking the lake so that made up for the room size
The hotel has a great breakfast inc. with the room lots of choices
One of the hotels best assets is their staff very friendly Arolia in particular is a gem

Room Tip: Room with balcony

I visited the hotel for two nights in December and it was fairly quiet in Como. The hotel is perfectly located on the lake and close to the water taxis and town. I ate in the hotel restaurant both nights and the food was good and reasonably priced. I loved the view on the lake and pier from my room and the breakfast room and will definitely go back to Hotel Marco's.

Room Tip: Room 10 has nice view

Lovely family run hotel in a super location. Very friendly staff in the hotel and the restaurant. Breakfast was plentiful and very nice. Towels and sheets changed every day.
We chose this hotel because of its location for the ferries and the town of como, no complaints at all about the service and price.
Only negative is that you could hear every noise in the next rooms bathroom.
Would certainly return.

Good breakfast and friendly staff. We were here in Spring and the room was overheated - there's no way to control the warmth as the bathroom hot water pipes/ services run through the floor. Nights are stuffy. Location is good, a decent walk to the city centre and a very short walk to the furnicolore. I thought it was a bit over priced for 130 Euro a night - the rooms are very dated.

Excellent location on the lake, next to the funiculare, and a short walk to/from the train station. Nice continental breakfast in the morning with the addition of fresh boiled eggs. Coffee to order and the capps were excellent! Our room with a lake view was clean and a nice size, in fact, the bathroom was huge for Italy, and had a lake view as well. Friendly staff, thank you Iola and Mario!

This hotel is perfectly located - the piazza by the lakefront is really only a few minutes of walking. The base station for the little train that goes to the top of the mountain is less than a 1 minute walk from the hotel. The views are spectacular and the restaurant options close to the hotel are GREAT. The staff were very helpful and I had no issues during my stay there. Highly recommended and I will also strive to return to this same hotel and "my" same room next time I visit here! The Linate airport is about 1 hour and 10 minutes away. Very easy to reach this spot and they have reserved parking spots behind the hotel for hotel guests.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a lake view - it is incredibly beautiful!

We have just returned from a short trip to a water and pump exhibition in Milan and enjoyed three lovely evenings at the Hotel Marcos on the edge of Lake Como. This is a small family run hotel, the staff were extremely friendly and hard working. English is spoken. Rooms are basic however more than adequate.

Our room had a fantastic view of the Lake with a balcony which looked magical at night with its twinkling lights.

A good continental buffet breakfast is served not just cakes, bread and jam.

The hotel also boasts an excellent restaurant where they offer 5% discount for guests and 10% discount off a sister restaurant. They have a wood burning pizza oven which unfortunately we did not try as we made the mistake of having a pizza elsewhere. They make their own bread and focaccia which was excellent and each morning we were awoken by the glorious aroma of freshly made bread.

Views from the restaurant overlook Lake Como which we are certain would be highly sort after during the summer months.

There is limited free parking for guests which was no problem for us as it was mid week.

Not suitable for disabled as there is no lift.

The hotel is easy to find just head for the funicular, in fact the restaurant is called The Funicular.

We would certainly recommend this hotel and will be going back in the near future.

Room Tip: if possible ask for a room with views of the Lake.
