“Nice hotel with friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

We had a wonderful stay in the hotel during our vacation at Lago di Como. Nice big comfortable room, good breakfast. The only issue we had with a parking since the hotel has no own parking place. However the location is just in the centre. We also stayed in the Bellagio sporting club which is perfect for kids.

The rooms are very nice looking and the bathrooms are attractive but the bests rooms are the ones with a view on the lake and especially on the corner - to name it : 404. The surroundings are very quiet and there is a very special but noisy motorized window and shade opening. For those with big luggage : be prepared to walk up a charming nice stone alley because all Bellagio is build on a hill with alleys to connect all the old houses. The cars stay parked and are no use in this typical old village. If it is warm enough a very nice terrace with lake view will be your breakfast area.
There is a fitness and massage center and swimming pool in another location but we did not use it.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view are worth the added cost

This hotel located on a hill side on the Bellagio peninsula away from the main waterfront. I stayed here for 7 nights in a single room with a lake view; waking up to the sun rising over the mountains was blissful, the views from here are simply stunning. The room was well furnished and maintained to a high standard, as is the rest of the hotel, the only negative point being the size of the shower cubicle. The swimming pool, spa, solarium and gym were all great, sun loungers with towels are provided, with a poolside attendant to keep things in order. The staff throughout were very friendly and helpful, the food is excellent, with a different dinner menu each night.

Greeted with a warm welcome on arrival with a complimentary soft drink, and a number of added extras in the room. I really enjoyed my stay here which was completely stress free. For me the location was great and the hotel first rate.

Stayed there 2 nights after coming in from the Bernina Express. It's about a 10-min. walk from the ferry and is in a very good location relative to everything. Staff was very accommodating and even upgraded our room to a corner room with a partial lake view (best to book as far in advance as possible). There is an elevator, very helpful for a hotel on a hill! We had room #305, a double that was a little small but had a generous armoire with a safe that had 'issues'. There's a writing table but the metal chair made a horrible noise when dragged. A little felt under the chair feet would solve that. Bath & shower were 'cozy' but comfortable with hair dryer but limited available outlets. There was a very small balcony with double doors but with those open and the other window the room was bright and airy, but some neighbors have a great view into the room too so be advised! Breakfast was modest but satisfying. Can't say enough about the helpfulness and patience of the reception people. Would definitely look to stay there again!

Room Tip: BOOK EARLY if you'll be there during 'high' season, which goes through September.

Fantastic breath taking setting. Beautiful ambiance, charming, courteous, and extremely gracious staff. Great food, pool, spa, rooms. I'm so glad we didn't stay directly in town. The walk into town is five minutes max, and it's lovely. The "in town" hotels do not offer the spectacular setting. We were there three nights of a 15 day vacation, and they were the best three nights of our trip.

Room Tip: The rooms in the tower, lake view, have a great balcony.

Love the fact that this hotel was located off the main drag (the Bellagio waterfront), yet not too far up the hill to give you a heart attack. Its 38 steps up, but that makes it a bit quieter than staying below near the ferry pier. The hotel looks like it has been renovated recently with beautiful finishings and contemporary furniture. We had 2 rooms for 3 of us, and we paid extra for the front rooms in order to get better view of the lake, which was well worth it. Rooms were quite spacious, as was the bathroom, but I'm not sure if this is true of all the rooms in the hotel. Jane and her son (Danny?) part of the family that own the hotel, were both very friendly and helpful as was another young man, the evening desk clerk. Our only lament was that we stayed only one night. We've never been to Lake Como before and wanted to experience it but its a crime not to spend at least 3 nights there.

Room Tip: Spring for a front room, ask for an upper floor. Its worth it for the view.
