“Excellent choice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2011

We stayed at the Hotel Centrale for seven nights in July. The position is excellent with lots of good restaurants in close proximity. We had a ground floor room with a terrace, which was a pleasant place to sit out with a view of the lake. Our room was of a good size and nicely furnished with free internet connection. We could hear some noise, but that is to be expected from a old building. The room was cleaned every day to a high standard.
Breakfast was a selection of croissants, pastries, fruit, bread and cereal with excellent coffee.
The owner, Giacomo and his sons were very welcoming and helpful and were happy to offer information about the local area. He recommended an good walk to the church of San Martino from which the views were breathtaking.
We loved Bellagio and the Hotel Centrale was an excellent base from which to explore the town and the local area. The hotel is excellent value compared to other hotels in the town and we would recommned it highly.

The Hotel Centralle is a real gem! The location is great, it is super charming and super clean. There's free internet and even a free laptop that guests who don't have a computer can use (free of charge).
Breakfast is from 8.30am till 10.30am! There's always a delicious cake (every day they have a different recipe, all of them excellent!). The capuccino is delicious and comes decorated with a heart! There are different types of breads, cereal, fruit salad, ham, etc etc etc
The room has air conditioner and although they say in their advertisement that none of their rooms have a view to the lake, our room HAD a VIEW to the lake!!! Usually we (travelers) are used to people from hotels saying they have "this and that" and when we arrive it is not exactly like they say. At Hotel Centralle Bellagio it is the oposite: Rhey say they don't have and they do have! Wow, they are modest! They have a GREAT place there!
We arrived by car and it is very convenient too. As soon as you disembark from the ferry drive to the parking located at the side of the church. There you can unload your vehicle and take the luggage to the Hotel (less than 50 meters away with NO steps! The roll on luggage will be just fine). After you have your luggage at the hotel go to your car again and drive till you get a free parking (just watch the road, it there is a line painted white it is a free spot; if the line is painted blue it is a pay parking). We took less than 10 minutes to park our car and were glad to notice that we would not need it for our whole staying. You can go to all places by foot or by ferry (cheap and great!!!)
We loved each moment at Hotel Centralle. Staff is great, everything is great there. I ca not found all words to recommend this place!
When there, check their garden and you will found grapes, tomatoes, lemon.... Wow.... what a place to stay!

We found this hotel in our Rick Steves book. We were unable to book a room with a lake view but decided to stay here anyway. It was a great decision. The hotel has a lot of public areas with views of Lake Como so view of the lake were never in short supply. Giacomo and his family run the hotel with genuine conern for its guests.

We spent 4 nights in this lovely hotel. We just loved our room, the decoration was really nice and romantic and room was extremely clean. They also cleaned every day. The breakfast was good and included lots of things like bread, cheese, ham and fruits. And the coffee was one of the best I ever had! Also the "garden area" was really beautiful and nice.

Found this place after alot of trawling on the internet. Were skeptical before we got there as they seem to play themselves down alot and they are a bit cheaper than others. Have to say, when we got there the place was perfect! Put any other places around the area to shame! So what did we get? - Beautiful quaint room with nice little en-suite and a sky light (with electric cover) and two windows. The whole feel and look of the room is not like anywhere I've stayed before which really gave it its charm. It has to be said, very clean too :) In addition, there is free wi-fi (although not great reception in all the rooms, from what they told me). There is even a little room beside the upper terrace with a laptop that anyone is welcome to use. The breakfast was quite typical continental / Italian breakfast and have to say was very nice. The thing that struck me the most about the place, however, has to be how modest the owner and staff were. They have a real gem there which is perfectly located in Bellagio but they seem to play it down alot. If I were to think of one negative it would be that they have no parking. However, we found free parking no problem for the duation of the stay. If you plan on staying here, there is restricted access to the town centre so make sure you let the hotel know that you will have a car so they can assist you and make arrangements so you don't get clamped or towed. Ask them for the free park areas. Enjoy! :)

This was a excellent value for money. Clean, well furnished with a continental breakfast which made up for some of the meals we experienced in Bellagio.

The hotel was everything others have commented upon. Just right for persons who do not want the masses and costs that go with it. Family/owners nice people!

A few tips re eating out. Avoid restaurants in Bellagio like the plague. Overcharging for essentially pasta and spaggeti, best to go outside. Great riverside cafe if you walk through Villa Metzi past D'Arsenna Restaurant to spit of land where there is pontoon for swimming. Saw meals being cooked at reasonable prices with great service from gorgeous girls.

Darsena Restaurant is also recommended but difficult to get there and back in evening unless you have transport.

Bellagio is a place to stay for one or two days and use as a base. I have to state that we we disappointed with the Town, its beautiful but the area does not compare with Lake Garda where there is so much more going on.

Best eating was at Lenno at Ristorante Plinio, beautiful view from covered terrace and excellent well cooked food in gourmet style.

We stayed here for 2 nights was a great little place. Perfect location for bellagio, we had a room with a terrace which was lovely in the evening. The hotel has traditional decor which adds to the attraction, free wi fi and a lovely breakfast. If we came back would stay here again
