“A good spot to check out wines to buy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

We visited this shop to check out some red wine available to take home with us.
Although they have a system to taste different wines with the purchase of a card
to try some varieties, we were disappointed that the selection was limited. With all
the hundreds of bottles in the shop, we were able to taste about 6 to 8. Some of the
options were out of order or not available. The concept is nice but it would be great
to sample more labels and make a good selection of favorites to purchase. The
staff in the store was quite helpful with information about the different wines so we
learned a bit during our visit. I would recommend a stop if you want to try a few
tastes, but probably better off to try different wines while dining in the area to find
a perfect vino to take home.

“You have to love the proprietor of this place.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

He will let you taste before you buy. He will give you a lesson on any wine subject you seek. He will teach you, dazzle you, and take care of you. And the prices are right. When is going shopping ever an experience? When you shop for wine at Principessa!

“Great selection and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

This is a great wine shop in Bellagio! They not only have a great selection of bottles to buy (as well as some liquors), but you can also purchase a tasting by the “taste”! In other words, you can choose to just taste a couple wines, or however many you wish from the tasting dispensers they have.

We had the best service here from a nice young guy! I never got his name, but my husband and I walked in one day and he gave us the run down on how to use the tasting dispensers. He was very helpful in pointing us in the right direction for which wines we might like. He was very patient with us as well as friendly and helpful.

We ended up buying a bottle (to take home) that we loved from our tasting, and I also asked him to help us choose an inexpensive bottle that we could purchase for drinking on our hotel’s rooftop terrace during our stay in Bellagio. That was no problem, he quickly picked out a 12 euro bottle for us to enjoy (we loved it!).

We went in a couple days later to buy another of the 12 euro bottle and he remembered us and wanted to know if we liked the wine!

Great service, great selection, and also bottles in all price ranges.
