“An adorable Hotel right in the heart of Bellagio”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2011

We stayed here for one night while in Ballagio.
We had an adorable room with an attached bedroom with two twin beds for our 2 children.
The room was clean and very cute. Like all historic hotels it was not huge but very adequate.
The hotel was right in the middle of the town of Bellagio with easy walking distance to everything (then again Bellagio is very small).
The staff was very accomodating both at the front desk and during our dinner at the hotel - including insisting on cutting our 5 year olds steak for her during our dinner at the hotel.
Breakfast was pretty good.
Parking was easy and the hotel was very close to the ferry stop.

Spent 3 nights here at the end of a long European holiday. What a beautiful place Bellagio is and Hotel Metropole was fabulous. We were lucky enough to have a room on the second floor with 2 balconies as it was on the corner. The hotel is right on the lake with magnificent views. Staff were very helpful and friendly and breakfasts very good. We had a wonderful meal at the restaurant one night and enjoyed our drinks on the terrace every afternoon watching the ferries transporting tourists to and from the villages. Lake Como is a very special destination. Having a carwould make access to nearby villages and sights easier but we were content to use the ferries and just relax.

Room Tip: Room 227 on the second floor was perfect!

I thought this to be the best for location and pricing was good. Bellagio is a must if your visiting Lake Como and we thought this hotel sounded the best.. We booked directly with the hotel at a good rate. They gave us great room with 180 deg views of the lake. The room was spacious, had a fridge and the bed comfortable, it was clean and even though the furnishings a little dated was a very good choice. Breakfast was served on the terrace overlooking the lake and was quite sufficiant continental style. Very easy to get the ferries, quite litterally at the door. Good air cond. and there was a fridge as well.
Its location on the shoreline was great, lots of places to eat and drink at night. The hotel offered a wine bar as well... On the roof of this hotel is a sundeck which was lovely and quite honestly the best view of the lake you could wish for. Would certainly recommend .
On the day we departed we got the early ferry back to s.Giovanni and they even accomodated us for a very early breakfast before we left, which we much appreciated.
Note check the ferries not all stop at Bellagio so planning is required if day tripping round the lake...Id happily return to this hotel anytime.

W@e stayed at the Metropole for 4 nights - it was brilliant. We were lucky eough to have room 110 on the first floor with the double terrace - worth every peny - huge room, king bed, bathtub and shower - what more could you ask for? Breakfast was more than adequate compared to some of the other breakfasts we were offered in our month away. Added to this there were 4 English channels - and not all news and sport. Perfect position, great staff and terrific tips as to where to eat and what to do.
We'd love to come back again one day>

Book a balcony room - to wake up in the morning to that view is worth every single penny. The breakfast was super - especially the croissants. Hope to return some day.

What a wonderful place to stay! We were delighted with every aspect of this hotel—location, accommodations, food, and the extremely helpful and friendly staff. Right on the water, with no heights to climb, the Metropole is only steps away from car and passenger ferries, a location that can’t be beat when you arrive (and leave) with considerable luggage. Although we’d hoped to get a room directly facing the lake and none were available, we had terrific views from our spacious triple suite on the top floor. From one window facing south, we could see a glorious stretch of the lake bordered by a charming tree-lined avenue, with majestic mountains in the distance. Windows facing the back overlooked picturesque red rooftops, a cobblestone pathway leading upward between shops, and above, the Villa Serbelloni surrounded by trees that stood out against the sky.

The suite itself was equipped with a comfortable bed, good air conditioning, a mini-fridge, safe, and large bathroom with tub shower. Even though the car ferry dock was very nearby, the windows kept out any noise. Right outside our door was stairway access to the roof sun terrace, from which one could enjoy splendid views of the lake, day or night. The hotel has an elevator to guest room floors and offers free wi-fi access. Breakfast came with a large selection of fruit, pastries, cereals, yogurt, hot dishes, juice, and coffees. We also enjoyed having dinner one evening in the hotel’s restaurant by the lake. Our stay was especially enhanced by all the very personable staff—especially Giacomo and Michaela, who patiently answered our questions and advised us with travel plans. We highly recommend the Hotel Metropole Bellagio!

I wanted to stay in Bellagio on this trip to Lake Como, and I chose this hotel due to the favorable reviews on Tripadvisor. I was not disappointed! I was only here for one night, and I really lucked out, as I was given a walk-out terraced room, with 2 lounge chairs and table facing the lake. I liked my room location so much that I tried to stay a second night, but they would have to move me to a room without a lake view, and I decided that I would move to my next location in Lugano.

My room itself was very average and basic, but the bathroom and bedroom both had walk-out french doors onto the terrace, which made all the difference. I felt like I was in my own private lake house. The room was also amazingly affordable.

The location is perfect and within walking distance to the entire town, which is picture perfect. The shopping is fantastic, with many boutique shops, and a locals feel overall. I will make sure I can stay longer next time, and I will definitely request the same room that I enjoyed on this trip.

Room Tip: Ask for a terraced room or balcony room on the lake-side.
