“Cooking with Chef Luigi Gandola!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

From start to finish, it was a superb experience. As I was running late for my weekend class, considered normal in Italy, Chef Luigi was setting up his kitchen for another busy day at Salice Blu. When I arrived, a glass of refreshing prosecco, pasta dough, pots and pans were waiting for me. The dishes we prepared were colorful, delicious and had a great presentation.
Chef Luigi is a true expert in local cuisine and uses the freshest ingredients from his garden. For many years, he used to cook for celebs at Villa D'Este hotel, including the one and only, George Clooney. Highly recommend to experience cooking with the Master.
Happy cooking!

“A fun cooking lesson”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

We thoroughly enjoyed our cooking lesson with Luigi. It was enjoyable from the moment Luigi picked us up from our apartment in his van, till the time he dropped us back there at the end. He is a natural entertainer, both in the kitchen and out of it. On arriving at the venue (the restaurant which Luigi and his family run), we had coffee then viewed the flourishing kitchen garden. We had fun making stripy pasta and helping Luigi with other tasks preparing our lunch. Then we sat down with the other students and had a delicious feast in the restaurant. We received aprons and a recipe book to take home, plus some local olive oil and risotto rice. Luigi has recently released a cookbook, which is available to buy online. Our day with Luigi was one of the highlights of our stay in Bellagio.

“A must for foodies”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

Based on the reviews on TA we booked a private cooking lesson with Chef Luigi Gandola at his restaurant , Il Salice Blue, near Bellagio. The experience started in the restaurant's garden where we picked ingredients to be used in the dishes we were preparing. We made fresh pasta, gnocchi, ravioli & risotto. Chef Luigi is a very accomplished chef & it was so much fun to work with him in his kitchen. But the best part, of course, was enjoying the meal on the restaurant's terrace. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to the Italian Lakes.

“Fantastic experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013 via mobile

Chef Luigi Gandola runs an Italian cooking class in his family-run restaurant just out of central Bellagio. The class includes transfers from Bellagio, a tour of Luigi's herb garden, hands-on pasta making, observation of Luigi making risotto and creme brulee, wine and lunch. Thoroughly enjoyed this lesson! Be prepared though; Luigi picks you up at 10am but you don't get back till almost 3 pm!

“Very Fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

This was a very fun and educational experience. In addition to the enjoyment of learning how to make homemade pasta, gnocchi, and ravioli, we greatly enjoyed the company of the other participants. We met people from (quite literally) all over the world and we had some great conversations.

Well worth the price in our opinion.
