We stayed for the entire month of June, 2013, and loved every minute of it. Luca Leoni, the owner, sets the tone with exemplary aplomb and skill and a wonderfully positive attitude ... This permeates its way down though the management and staff team ... Best of all, it is a family business that knows the value of making guests feel right at home ... My suggestion is to pay the extra few Euros for a view of the lake ... But even is you don't, you'll have great views during breakfast, up on the roof garden, and at their street level Bellagio Restaurant, where the food is well worth the price and the quality is high ... After a month at the Du Lac, I almost feel like family myself ... Suggestions from Graziano Gandola, the Du Lac manager, were spot on ... Everything from finding the best steak, the best pizza, and great places to visit on our excursions around the lake to our more adventurous day trips to Switzerland and nearby hill towns and valleys ... I would characterize the Du Lac as clean, comfortable, no-nonsense service with a flair for the personal touch that give a guest that extra little smile to start their day and a relaxing comfort of "coming home" at the end of a day after galavanting about and taking in the beauty of Bellagio and Lake Como ... When in doubt about where to eat, the Bellagio Restaurant always came through with good food ... They even went out of their way and prepared a picnic lunch for us and a late night dinner after their regular kitchen hours ... It's tough to find a place that does these things ... So, kudos to the Du Lac, and to the wonderful people who make it so nice. Best of all, it's conveniently located.
