“Amazing pizzas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2014

We ate at La Grotta upon our arrival in Belagio. The pizzas are large and tasted great. None of us could finish them. Try the La Grotta pizza with fresh mushroom and prosciutto. Very reasonable prices. About 25 or so steps from the lake.

“Wonderful authentic Italian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2014

Would rate this 4.5 if available just due to lack of ambiance. However, the food was very good and the risotto with sausage was unbelievable. Other person in our party had the pasta carbonara which was also excellent. Very generous portions, in fact, too much. Wouldn't hesitate to go back, excellent!

“Homemade Italian food with excellent Italian service... Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2014

Tucked away from the crowds and noise on the waterfront this delightful family run Pizzeria, restaurant offers great food, great service in a well presented bright airy restaurant . The menu is in multiple languages, the table linen, is linen, nothing paper or plastic , the bread basket has a variety of breadsticks and fresh bread and the freshly made pizza is to die for. They are huge and worth sharing unless you are starving. The homemade lasagne is the best I have ever tasted and beautifully presented. Sadly we were too full for desert but we plan to miss lunch and return tomorrow to try to do the menu justice. Lots of lovely fish dishes, salads , something for everyone.

Great value, great service.... A must if you are in the area.

“Grotty Grotta”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2014

Difficult as it is to get really bad food in Italy, they managed it. We had a poor risotto with no flavour at all (this is north Italy so you would expect at least a reasonable risotto). Then we had two plates of vegetables one grilled one boiled. The boiled vegetables were tasteless frozen ones. And the grilled veg was barley grilled and tasted horrible. We complained about the veg, the girl told the kitchen but the owner never came over. We called the bill without our usual coffee and dessert. The place was very quiet now we know why.
