“Beautiful hotel, worth the mildly inconvienient locale”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2011

I debated between 4 or 5 stars for this one, and if we could do half stars on tripadvisor, I'd give it 4.5. The hotel itself is quite beautiful and the views are extraordinary - that combined with its affordability make it worth staying outside of the town of Bellagio. Yes, there were times we wish we could just step outside our hotel and be in town, but the shuttle is - generally - effective. And there will be times when you will enjoy you are in a quieter part of the lake, for sure.

The rooms are big, modern, clean and comfortable. The pool is really quite awesome with spectacular views. The staff is helpful. It's a very relaxing place.

After getting married in Varenna my new husband and I spent a few days in Bellagio at this b&b. After everything had gone so smoothly we kind of expected at least something to be wrong with this wonderful hotel that we had read so much about, but let me tell you there wasn't!

On arrival in Bellagio I went to the tourism information office to ask for them to order us a taxi, but she just called the hotel and they came and picked us up from outside the post office. We successfully checked in and even though it was raining the views from our room were stunning.

The whole hotel/ b&b has been decorated and finished tastefully and distinctively with no cost spared and is a refreshing change to the rustic/ old worldly accommodation that you will experience on the rest of the lake. It has to be said that a lot of the hotels on Lake Como whilst trying to preserve their old heritage have been let go, so it was lovely to spend a few nights somewhere with comfy beds, air conditioning and somewhere fully deserved of its price tag, rather than paying for its name!

This b&b is as it states on the website quite far out of Bellagio, however there is an hourly shuttle bus in to town which is prompt and free. The last one runs back at 9pm but a taxi back is about 10 Euro, however you have to pre-book.

Borgo Le Terrazze has such a friendly feel to it, the two main ladies are lovely and will help you with just about anything, although they are rushed off their feet. The swimming pool is a welcome relief in the heat of the Italian Summer and they also do room service which is rare for a b&b and also isn't too expensive. All in all there is nothing to fault, a beautiful little (relatively unknown) gem away from the beautiful but busy Bellagio. We would go back tomorrow!

This location is very helpful in shuttling you to and from the town, but it was slightly inconvenient not having our own car. The inn itself couldn't have been more lovely though. Nice spacious rooms and a stunning view. The pool was great to have since we were there during a heat wave. Breakfasts were also great, too.

Although a little out of town it's a fantastic location to see superb views of Lake Como. Hotel has a pool which is also superbly located. Service was great and hotel staff extremely friendly. Loved it.

Room Tip: Spacious big rooms with a balcony where you can relax or have a beer with great views.

We stayed there for 4 nights with our kids, aged 8 and 11. We had a very spacious room overlooking Lake Como (all the rooms have such a view). The view from our balcony was just stunning. The hotel is so calm because it is not inside Bellagio town. It is 7 minutes by car (going fast!) away from Bellagio. The hotel has a frequent shuttle that takes you to and from Bellagio, no problem with that. The kids loved their pool which also has a great view (the hotel is perched on a high hill. Although the buffet breakfast was charged extra, it was very generous. We would do our daily outings to Bellagio and the surrounding vilages (by ferry-boat) and can't wait till we're met by the hotel shuttle in the town center to take us back to the hotel where we would lounge, relax by the pool and just gaze at the view. Drawbacks? You can't take walk from the hotel with the kids because the road leading to it (300 m) is a steep uphill ending at the hotel. At the bottom is the narrow road leading to Bellagio and filled with speeding cars. So, when you're at the hotel, you need a car to take you anywhere.

What else is there to say? Borgo Le Terrazze is a must when you stay at Bellagio. All rooms have spectacular views of the lake. The service was friendly and efficient, with a free shuttle service to and from Bellagio town center. Our room was spotless; we even had a fully functional kitchen (unfortunately, we didn't use this facility as we were to busy pigging out at the restaurants!). I will definitely stay here again when my family and I return to Como in the near future.
